C&c Generals

<div class="IPBDescription">So how bout it?</div> I used to play C&C, Red Alert, and Red Alert 2. Is generals as good as they were or am I in for a disapointment? I found very mixed reviews, more leaning towards the cr@p side. Anyway, what are your thoughts?

its far from what its hyped to be. Yes, it looks amazing, gameplay is quite bland and very slow paced, units are slow as molasses and the SP is just of a bunch of potentially, but really not, cool missions stuck together with absolutely no story line. I played it for 2 weeks at best, and deleted it... not worth money at all I think.

*Comprox is just mad because they did not include Canada as a team and would rather put in the GLA

I like to diverge and play this in single player whenever I don't feel like losing another game of NS.

usually I just play the last mission of the usa campaign over and over again.

I've played it so many times now that the last time I played I made that mission all the way through without saving/loading, without creating a single unit, and without losing a single unit or building. Although the stats always say 1 unit created (damn those misleading figures!!!)

now if only I can figure out how to extract the damn replay :/

I gave it a shot, wasn't impressed at all.

Campaigns were lacking in just about every sense, multiplayer is still the C&C formula of "camp your base while massing tanks and teching to your superweapon."

I played it at my friend's place, so I didn't waste any money on it, thankfully. It's already off my machine.

Warcraft III beta is still my current pure-RTS of choice.

I spent 50 gift cert dollars on it. Better spent on Splinter Cell.

It's fun for a whole, but there's only so many GLA tunnel rushes you can see efore you want to cry.

Im considering trying playing the china end levels with some ideas I've had recently.
Why the hell did they make the last USA level so freaking easy? And can someone tell me how everyone except me needs several brutal opponents to get a challenge, while one Hard army is enough for me to actually get a challenge?

I was a dire hard C&C and RA1 fanatic. Not saying I was any good, I just loved playing even in my suckage. :P

But now Generals has taken hold, and I like it even more than I did these two! :O I think its the best of the whole series...

It's a great game, although I can't comment on the singleplayer being that I barely played it. Multiplayer it's REALLY good, the best fast-paced RTS to come out in recent memory. If you don't like the game since you're being constantly rushed, well.. maybe you should play with other people.

The AI is ridiculiously bad. Even I, who sucks at rts games sine i refuse to rush and stick to building the exact same thing every time (i experiment), can beat the computer. But I hate how the AI always sees you, it has no fog of war...

I too would be willing to cap Silverfox with my 5 scud-storm action of doom.

Mmmmm.... 49 scud missles.... and enough antrhrax to take out half the civilized world.
