Big Problem

I think..
When I started up a LAN game to test out the gameplay (I've gotten into the habit of doing that ever since I learned how to play online), the map list listed HALF-LIFE maps. I tried it out anyways, and obviously I had problems considering there was no ready room.

Any help would be appreciate. The mod looks like it'd be fun, but at the moment I can't play nothin.

I could have sworn there was a sticky on this. q:

It's a bug in the installer. Delete your desktop icon and connect through the start menu, and everything will be groovy. Have fun!

Once you get into a LAN game, you'll want to type the following in the console so you can check out what is supposed to happen:

    sv_cheats 1
starts the game even though there is only 1 player

    givepoints
increases your resource points so you can build stuff (as marine) or evolve into the other species (aliens)

    bigdig
structures you create (as gorge or marine commander) build themselves instantly

    spawnhive
builds a second or third hive, again so you can try out the higher alien species and attack modes that are only available with 2 or 3 hives

    Enjoy!

there is a way to get the desktop icon working - if search works properly, you could have tried that - ive answered it a few times before... otherwise:

Right click your desktop icon and click properties.
in the box that says "Start In", enter your half-life directory (e.g. C:\Sierra\Half-life)

then click ok, and it SHOULD work - did for me and every one else i mentioned it to

Meh. It seemed simpiler to just go to the Start Menu, find the Natural Selection directory, right-click the icon and send it to desktop as shortcut...... But I'll try your suggestion..... Sometime....... Eventually......
