<div class="IPBDescription">Would this be a good idea?</div> Yeah I wondering that seeing NS has such a steep learning curve and that we are all mad NS fanatics wouldn't it be good to have a one off Official NS Player Guide? After 1.1 comes out of course <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
I see lesser games with Official guides for sale at most Computer Game stores etc. And seeing that you can buy NS T-shirts, Stickers and Coffee mugs wouldn't it be feasible to have an magazine even if its only available for sale from the online store <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
The magazine could be like most guides and have an official history and background on NS and some info on the dev team, A glossary of terms and abbreviations used whilst playing e.g , a full description of all the aspects of the aspects of the game like players, weapons, structures , models and tech tree and last but not least descriptions of the many ways you actually play the game as an alien, marine or commander.
Also last but not least most of the Official Player Guides are usually very decriptive about the games they are describing but often I've noticed they merely glance over the real nitty-gritty stuff that you only ever pick up in the forums. Therefore I think that the NS guide could draw on many good ideas and relevant points that have been brought up in the NS forums to create a truly detailed FAQ section of the magazine!
It could be the NS bible! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Anyway <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> what do u reckon?
PS What would be on the centrefold fold out poster? <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->

As for the centerfold, the long awaited female marine sitting in the middle of a hallway with on a deckchair in a bikini...
...with an Onos in the shadows behind her <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
the only way it woulw work if, if it was online where changes could be made easily. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Not only because its easier to update, but as soon as something costs money, the amount of people reading it drops dramaticly :/
But the idea of a guide is good i thik <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Extreme All-Natural Beach Volleyball Selection!
/me scans through list of bikinis to outfit his fade
I say keep the cute japanese voices from the actual X-Box game (not that I own one of those portable toilets) but change the skins. I'm all for seeing a gorge talk like a sexy 18year old <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
As for the magazine, online might be better, but I'm sure with a decent printer and Kinko's you could make a worthwhile NS gamezine.
I'm really talking about a one- off guide <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
It's really up to the dev team or Flayra to decide when a good time would be to release a guide. In other words when they think NS has basically reached a point where its not going to change that much.
Much like the CS guide. I know CS sux a$$ but it's a good way to parallel what I'm talking about.
I noticed the CS guide came out around 1.3/4 when basically the gameplay was pretty much set. Yet it still receives the occasional tweak upgrade to add some new fangled idea from valve.
Not that I thought that the CS guide was particularly good. It pretty much gave a basic run down on the gameplay and history and really didnt tell anything knew. I expect the NS guide to be way more detailed with strategies and information on this far more complex game <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

it isn't lusty enough for you now? Personally I love it when a marine hits a hive, just so I can hear that sweet sweet voice again.
[note] shouldn't "the hive is under attack" be in kharaa "Chirp krackle rawk rawk"?
lol that must be the best point i've seen so far <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Even tho it sounds like someone whos been chain smoking for 48 hours and is coughing while speaking....
It's lusty if you like dogs who try to speak.
