    You're vague explaining your texture problem. Let me see your texture file, I'll see if it's in the correct format.

    256 bmp <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> 8 bit
  • JamilJamil Join Date: 2002-11-02 Member: 4829Members
    It needs to be in 8 bit(256 colours) indexed colour format. MS paint will do indexed colour, if that's what you're doing. If you're using adobe then the default will probably be RGB mode. Change the mode to indexed colour.

    <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> how do i make the textures work? i tried it in EVERY format. and they still dont show.
  • sheena_yanaisheena_yanai Join Date: 2002-12-23 Member: 11426Members
    the format isnt that special,because halflife just supports bmp.. the bmp itself is special..you have to reduce the colors to 256 (8 bit)
  • ShaskShask Join Date: 2002-12-18 Member: 11083Members
    i did that and it still dont work.

    hasn't this egg for alien already been made? because I have used one exactly like this before.
  • JamilJamil Join Date: 2002-11-02 Member: 4829Members
    Actually, it has to be indexed, or milkshape will crash when you try and compile.

    I don't know....but that just doesn't look like the Zerg's egg in starcraft... I'll post some ref pics of them when i find them. Nice job on the modeling tho

    <a href='http://wizard.7p.com/cgi-bin/image/templates/2zergeggpics.PNG' target='_blank'>You can find 2 in-game screenies here</a>

    Now they are small, but those are it. I believe you just need to edit the colors and add the veins(as mentioned by someone) and there is no grass under the eggs as they were spawned on the creep. Hope this helps

    Edit: Pics

    Hey, if you select the egg in-game and look at the bottom right of your screen at the unit portrait section, (where the Overminds Eye is) you can get a very good close up of the texture of the egg.
