Have a listen
Check out the news update. The turret sounds are my personal favorite, though the bite sound (that's for the level 1) is a close second. It just jumps out at you, appearing suddenly, just like the level 1 is played.

What do you think of them?

The turrets are fabulous. I'm a little curious about ric1.wav - it sounds almost as if there's a water-drop effect near the end of it.

Ah well, I'm sure it sounds fine in game. Beautiful!!

    Awesome sounds

Ricochet noises sound too long (About twice as long as I think they should be) but I love the turret firing noises.

actually in a hallway a ricochet noise could last even longer, but dont worry, theyll get drowned out by a million other sounds, and I bet the sound fades in game anywho.
Awesome sounds for sure though, does anyone know if you can change the sound settings on windows xp for just one acount? Im trying to make the sounds my windows sounds, but I dont think the rest of my family would dig it..... lol

If you are using multiple user accounts for logon, each one gets their own sound profile by default. As long as you don't replace the actual files with renamed NS wav files, you should be fine.

Sounds great guys. I check back at these boards every once in a while, and each time I find out something new happening. Its my most anticipated game right now. (I play a lot of mods.) I almost like how long its taking to get this game finished, makes me think it'll be all the more better. Check ya later, guys.

I enjoy the sounds (and that is a good compliment comeing from me, since I'm a big auidophilie). They are really nice quality, but I just feel as if the HMG and LMG sounds are lacking something. Maybe add some sounds of the metal parts working inside of the gun (ie a faint sound of the gun loading the next round/ejecting the spent shell) Otherwise they are pretty good.

BTW what ever happened to the low-bass sounding LMG that is heard in the shockwave intro for the site? I really like that sound. Do you plan on using it for the LMG? If not could you or do you plan on releasing it to the public so they can replace it with that kick @ss sound?

Anyhow keep up the good work. Besides it's your mod, do whatever you want to with it. I'm just offering a suggestion based on my opinion. I have these great visions of sounds that float arround in my mind and your mod is the closest thing to what I can imagine up inside my demented head.

I love the sounds because they are unique, unique sounds can go a long way to making a mod popular.
    Remember Star-Wars.

I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I can't seem to find these sound files. The latest update I see on the main page is a thing about playtester comments and then there' sa link to Sound Ideas which doesn't actually go to any NS specific links. Maybe it's something wrong with my internet. Cause I haven't been able to see any new updates on some of the sites that I visit. I still see the Thursday, May 23 page on planethalflife. It's been there for well over a week now.
