Secret Room In Seige!

I found a secret room on the map seige005, when some bots seemed to be outside the map (according to motion tracking). I went alien, explored around a little bit, and found the secret room. I'm not gonna tell you where it is, but it does make a great place to build all your chambers <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Except that if the Marines win on siege, it's always one of two ways:

    - Massive heavy weapon rush when the door opens
    - Siege cannons from the glassed-in room between the bases

    If it was a normal map where you could lose a hive or two and still be in the game, a secret room like that might be useful. Hell, the aliens can't even use it as a hiding spot when the hives go down because they'll die from the Beep of Doom. Unless of course you have your D chambers in there while you're hiding, in which case everyone on the server will probably take an immediate dislike to you for keeping them waiting.

    Still you have to admit that it would be fun to place all of your chambers, and have your team mates wondering where they are. So I'm guessing you two know where it is?

    the room cant be seen on the marine map, but if he scans there, does the sige shoot it? ive not tried it yet

    siege_005 is waay too Marine-centric to be fun anyway, IMHO. There's simply not enough time for a Gorge to put enough res nozzles down(even if the team suicides and remains dead by holding forward, to give the gorge all the team's res) to get Aliens to good evolutionary levels before Marines have HA and HMGs.

    Maybe it'll be better with 1.1's new resource model, though.

    Fades can always blink through the glass window long before the marines have access to the siege room. Or is that and evil exploit <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    If the fades blinking through the window is an exploit (and I bet it is <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->) the maker should simply make it a duble window, causing the fade to get stuck and become an easeier target for marines. (or make a really FAT window <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->)

    Granted ha hmg if not choked will be invincible assuming not stupid.

    jp nade can be taken out yes.. but he the perfect bomber for just such a map!!11 11 one

    Actually, this maps shows a lot about the unbalance of the sides in resource terms, as marines can get so much more so much quicker than aliens can, even though aliens have more nozzles avalible.

    I would hope this is a good basis for what to do to the resources model in 1.1, so you can try to balance the economies.

    On a lighter note, if the aliens are ignorent, you can slip a JP rine in that room, u can siege the hvies from down there.

    I have done that before and all the aliens were like "WTH, OMG u used /stuck to get into the glass room b4 it opened, h4x!!!!!1111one"

    Well, if you ever play the missilecommand/siege 24/7 server, you can give resources to the gorge to greatly increase resource node production. Once you have a good base, you can have 1 gorge web the door and build D/O/M/S chambers, while the other continues to build resource nodes (there are alot).

    Just be careful though, one jerkoff went gorge, we all gave him his res, then he went onos immediatly. Somehow we actually won because the commander for the marines built up his base before capping res nodes, but watch for these llama.

    He also ran out as soon as the door opened and got himself killed by a bunch of LMGs. And as soon as he died he went gorge to get resources faster again.... ugh.

    Oh no, not on Missle Command + Siege005 server anyway. I rarely ever see marines win on that server on that map.

    old-old-old-OLD-REALLY OLD lol...ive known about this for a LONG time....great to get a marine in there w/jet and some form of heavy weapon and spam that secret room w/ammo and health great for taking out the hives 8 )
