<div class="IPBDescription">and status update</div> <a href='http://nsworld.ns-central.co.uk/Map.php?UniqueID=51' target='_blank'>NS_Hydrosity</a> is basically finished, right now I'm just tweaking and balancing. You can download my latest released beta from NS World, it's the build that I submitted for the mapping deadline.
I have newer builds on my harddrive but I doubt I will do another release before I release the final build, as a result there are some bugs that are in the build that I've released and the one I'm working on now. So to save time heres a brief changelog
- added about 3-4 more particle systems
- added signs
- added vents
- rebuilt Marine Spawn
- rebuilt readyroom
- rebuilt Overflow hive
- reduced overall map size by roughly 10%
- fixed some clipping bugs
- fixed bug where turret farms in the Water Storage hive could crash the server
<b><a href='http://www.nsmaps.com/mouse/ns_hydrosity.zip' target='_blank'>DOWNLOAD HERE</a></b>
And now, 5 screenies
<i>(not all of these come from the released build)</i>

Great work, but you knew that <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
any downloadable map is a good map...
eh? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
I <b>love</b> the water storage hive.
I have no clue how aliens would NOT get lost between all the vents and paths between the pipes.
Great strange hives. Needs some time to "learn" them. The "higher one" seems too JPish, it needs elevators.
Have found MANY places to get stuck as Skulk - JP-marine even without buildings, how will this be as onos with towers all over.... ? -> clip brushes
Make more func_seetrough "0" for commander ... its just anoying at some places...
Some places, and most water surfaces are too bright. Make water surfaces "rentermode texture , amount 150" -> transparency ... and make the textures darker.
Hives are farer away from each other, wich is just fair. aliens have enough advantages in vents and hiding places.
Nice sounds. I have such an "ocean sounds" CD... makes you bladder when you listen to it for 30 minutes, you know what I mean?
and here is the overview
Red = Node
Blue = MS
Green = Hive
Although some of the corridors seem to be poorly lit... a few light_spots could give the map even more atmosphere.

It's looking pretty good. I see a texture problem, in shot 4 the infested texture cuts off rather abruptly and sharply... see if you can put a different texture on there that looks like the infestation fading away.
As for the no nodes in hives, both the Pumping Control and Water Storage nodes have a vent (or a waterway in Pumping Controls case) that goes from the actual hive chamber and opens right above or next to the node. For the Central Overflow node, I was unhappy with how exposed it was, so I moved the node so it's in the smaller pipes (which are visible in ther teaser shot)behind the hive. So now it still isn't visible from the hive, but to get to it you have to get past the hive defences.
I'll post the layout of the current build when I get home.
Btw, saw you on the Gamearena servers today <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
If any Australians want to play a game on Hydrosity, AusNS (203.30.194.58:27023) has/had it on their server, although I'm not sure if it's in the map rotation. Just pester Kal or one of the other admins <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> .
I would love to know if any servers have hydrosity in their rotation
