Quotes From My "victims"

I probably shouldn't completely make fun of people, but I'm going to post some quotes from e-mail I received today after our April Fool's day "announcement". It's all in good fun, have a laugh.

The volume and intensity of these e-mails proves not how dim-witted NS players are, but how passionate. I can hardly wait for next year...

--
"hi I love Ns I play 24/7 from reading what's on he site it seems you will be changing it alot please don't I assure you that will make it lose its appeal because talking to players online we all love NS for being so different by doing this, NS would be a flop Trust me as a huge game player I know what I'm talking about please don't rename onos ( ONOS sounds cooler and harder then that other stupid name) I don't know what you will think of the letter but I hope it makes you change your mind please test it or something before going out and destroying the ns we know and love maybe try a questionnaire but please don't ruin my favourite game the stuff on the site sounds rubbish please take my word into consideration I have played with thousands of people online and we all agree. My mum who's 34 loves your game , my fiancée loves your game and we all say don't lose the plot and change it too much its gr8 how it is . I really thought the changes in your last news report it sounded great I love the idea of a select all button for the comm. please just keep them changes (people will love them).
thanks for your time I hope you listen to my advice because I wont be playing NS with those changes sorry if im harsh but honestly who would ask the gaming community we love ns like it is its the best online game ever!"

":-/

I dont know if is a good idea...

The FPS = GOOD
RTS = VERY GOOD
RPG = In this game???

You know... make so much things to a game not make the game better. ( Not for more sweet the cake will be the best )

Sometimes the concept of the game is really good (like NS), but add more things to the game it might turn out to be bad.

Anyway thanks for the game. NS is the best mod that I have known."

"I must express my total outrage at the idea of turning Natural Selection
into a first person WarCraft. NS is a Sci-Fi shooter. One of the best I have
ever played in fact. NS is as action packed as Aliens Vs. Predator and as
addicting as StarCraft. People that play NS are not the demographic that
enjoy things like "upkeep", "leveling up", or "charisma." If your game was
drastically needing an RPG element people would play Ever Quest or WarCraft
3 instead of NS. Natural Selection is fun and enjoyable because it has the
console-like ability of being turned on and off with impunity. You can
quickly jump on NS with a few friends, play a round, and then go do
something else. You will significantly narrow your target audience by making
NS an involved RPG. Far fewer people are interested in building and
maintaining a character with personality traits let alone "role-playing in
Olde English." This especially holds true on the Half-Life/Quake 2 engine
which is an action FPS platform and is severely limited as far as character
management would be concerned. In effect, you will be turning an above
average Sci-Fi mod for Half-Life, into a sub-par RPG that will never be able
to compete with legitimate RPG/RTS's such as Ever Quest, WarCraft 3, or
Baldur's Gate. Please take this to heart to prevent what could be a most sad
development. Don't lose all your players back to Counter-Strike."

Those people are the reason why I get like 10 messages a week in my inbox saying "Did you hear about?" and "Unbelieveable but true story!!!"

People, people... think critically, and logically analyze a passage or statement and see if it's obviously false...

Did you get as many letters last year? I forgot what the joke was then, but it was something more off-the-wall than this year's rendition.

    Oh..... oh.... OH MY GOD!

Flayra is a human being! Wow!

"Darkness crept back into the forests of the world. Rumor grew of a shadow in the East, whispers of a nameless fear... And the Hive of power perceived: its time had now come. Somewhere deep in the heart of a misty and abandonded freighter a thought set the wheels of history into motion. It was a simple concept: to survive at all costs. To process the world with hopes of living. Cells multiplied and evolved at a catastropic rate, constantly learning, adapting, living. Thus the first hive was born, and out of it crept Flayra, the Overmind, the one that would fight on and live." -Some bloke who was just playing NS with LOTR playing in the background

when i read the news about NS changing to WC3 i silently cried, then realized that servers would not change to 1.1, but instead keep 1.04 forever. and then i smiled.

then i read the posts replying to the other thread and realized flayra is a joker.

    thank god.

it was good times, but next year people will be on there toes, so Flayra will have to get creative, but no worries, I have the utmost faith in him to pull the wool over all our eyes

A fiancee but his mom is 34? For some reason, reading that reminded me of a Leisure Suit Larry game, the one where Larry is on the love cruise. When Larry meets the mother/daughter country singing duo.

"Hi! My name is <?> and I'm 31! This is my daughter <?> and she's 19! I've had her with my first ovulation!"

LOL I dunno.... Maybe the Texan accent made it sound funnier than it really is, but I laughed a lot at that.

If you read it on the Internet, it must be true.

    and/or

    The Internet makes you stupid.

So wonderfully appropriate, delete as applicable.

(Also i'm sure at least some of Flay's inbox will be composed of counter-spoof posts)

Actually (not sure if anyone has posted this yet coz Im so tired from last night im not going to read the rest of this) but in the UK you can get married at 16 and have kids at 16.

Therefore if his mom was 16 and had children then if she was 34 now that would make him 18 years old (give or take a few months). You CAN have a fiancee then. But also if his mom was 18 when having him then he would be 16 and then he CAN get married etc.

Please think this through before making fun of people. It's sad if you dont think things through.
