skulks do have four legs, very observant
and this really isn't that big of a deal...
their legs move at the same time? or maybe they only got nails on the front claws for attacking
Okay, I threw together some sound files for this, because it was bugging me
from the readme file (that I also threw together ^^; ):
Skulk four-step sound files made by Rabid Llama Note that this replaces only the default "squishy" sounding skulk noises, none of the more "metallic" ones, because I believe that those are shared between marines and skulks (and marines are only bipedal...) Installation: 1) go to your Half-Life\ns\sound\player directory, and change the filenames of the files "pl_step1-a1.wav" and "pl_step2-a1.wav" to something else (like adding a .orig on the end, to make the first one "pl_step1-a1.wav.orig", for an example). This is so you can revert back to normal sounds if you wish to. 2) Unzip the contents of this file to your Half-Life\ns\sound\player directory 3) Enjoy
It's not perfect, but it sounds pretty good. There's an odd louder squish sound in there every once and a while, which makes it sound like THREE feet. Oh well, it's not my fault, I swear The effect really isn't all that noticeable, but it was worth the five minute's effort it took
lets keep it half-assed, and stick with the 2 leg sounds
There's a monster in resident evil that's quite powerful and it makes LOADS of clicking sounds when it's moving... I think it'll add to the atmosphere if there are 'super skulks' who can toggle it or something
*marine sees skulk scuttles all over the room hiding behind and fires. after emptying his clip the sound suddenly stops, he hurries to reload and when he succeeds, becomes more calm.

SUDDENLY THE SKULK TEARS HIS HEAD OFF*
HAHAHHAHHAHAA
Hmm.. If you hear four legs you know it's a skulk...
Right now you only have the delay between two sounds to guess what specy is coming.
