Quick Milkshape-related Question

While looking for Starcraft concept shots of non-armor marines for another thread, I stumbled across this rather spiffy-looking C-20 from SC:Ghost (attached picture) that would make a very nice LMG. However, since I only have MS3D and have never made a weapon model before, I have a long-winded question:
Is it possible to "cut" primitives with one another (e.g. use a cylinder to cut a hole through a box) with MS3D? I can't see the option around anywhere, and if I'm to make the barrel (and other parts) as snazzy as is possible I'll need to do that. Otherwise I'll just have to make what I can with Milkshape then pass the model on to someone with, say, Max to finish it off.

as for your question, i'm not really sure.
However, I'd still be interested to know if Milkshape can cut items like that if anyone can help.
(edit: actually, I've just noticed his C-20 clocks in at around 5000 polies, which is going to all but kill HL. Maybe I should have a go myself after all.)
You just select the faces of a window of the left side, and instead of extruding them outwards, you INTRUDE them (go THROUGH the model) all the way to the right side. Then you delete the faces, and weld the vertex together!
Voila!
Instant hole! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
I didn't see you jumping to offer your input before I figured it out! <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
I mean "Boolean Operations"..WTH? Took me half an hour to realise they meant "carve, sorta like the carve button in Hammer"..
"Specularity Properties", oh, I see, you mean "How shiny do ya want it?"
Similarly, I'd have understood the whole "UV Texturemaps" a lot sooner if it had said "skins y'know.."
