Music To Frag Lerks By

What do you use?
This is a bit different to the normal "What music do you play in the background?" question. I want to find out what 'atmospheric' music you guys use in your C:\Sierra\Half-Life\ns\music directory, since I'm out of ideas at the moment. so far I have:
Terminator 2 - Theme
King Prawn - Hell Below
Terminator 2 - Theme (Re-Mix)

Metal Gear Solid/2:
03 - Russian Soldiers From Kasatka
10 - Mantis' Hymn
02 - Opening Infiltration
04 - Olga Gurlukovich
05 - Metal Gear
06 - Revolver Ocelot
07 - Ray Escapes
09 - Big Shell
10 - Fortune
12 - Vamp
15 - Colosseo
08 - Warhead Storage

All chosen for there small (if any) use of vocals and atmosphere inducing/war themed and epic scores. I just need some more suggestion for any pieces that would enhance the overall NS experience

well, at the mo i have it kinda default.

bsaically, i like to hear where they are coming from, but playing with music does kick **** most of the time, makes it real fun!

question: do you just dump the files into the folder or do u gotta change its name to ns_ambient1.mp3 or whatever.

iron maiden - 2 minutes to midnight.
very nice, kinda simple things but all put together makes a nice 6 min song about nuclear destruction.
"shoot to maim or kill for gain, but we don`t need a reason"

or just other thrash metal songs like, metallica - devil dance.

Generally any ambient music. Nothing with lyrics, but almost all with Pianos/violins.

A little Jimi, Stones, Bob, Beatles and Floyd(especially floyd) make for good atmosphere.

hip-hop instrumentals, thats what I usually listen to ingame, they are relaxing and let me concentrate better ingame (altho I sometimes get annoyed of not hearing the lyrics but still got them in my head, bit confusing part of it, usually when i smoke too much joints tho )

James Horner didnt write the Last of the Mohicans theme, it was someone else. Are there any plans for more official music to be added later or with 1.1?

Half Life Amp is a seperate program that uses a HUD display that allows users to navigate through their playlists. Check it out by clicking the link below.

Any Lustmord album is an excellent choice. I especially recommend Zoetrope, the soundtrack to a short film of the same name.

I'd have to say I'm in the "nothing external to the game" faction. Those of us with slower rigs need all the help we can get. I'm always very conscious of the noise I'm making....

NSPimp needs to be banned. (and no, I didn't click it)

As for the topic, I have some atmospheric music I put in there, but it distracts me more than anything else.

Most HL mods I play with no background music (so I can concentrate) but I find I frag (marines) better when I'm NOT concentrating properly. Lately I've been listening to the C&C soundtrack on my CD player while I bite people

No music in game for me, no sir.
Ecspecially when playing Marines I need to hear my sorrounding.
In places like Power Silo and ns_nothing where stopsound won't work, additional music can make one more vulnarable... because you can only look in one direction but hear in all directions.

For pure atmosphere, look no further than any track by Biosphere... Freeze-Frames is amazingly good for ns. So is startoucher and sphere of no-form. Anything else by him is still amazing and atmospheric, but is more for listening than gaming. Geir Jenssen (Biosphere) is great.
