Image size
Maybe I'm just anal, but I have a request - when you post screenshots from your map, could you *please* restrict them to 800x600 or smaller? Having to scroll left and right is a real pain with the larger images. Yeah, I whine.

    Hehe,

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm definitely sticking with 800x600 now. I used to post them at 1024x768... but a while back I realized that most people aren't even going to scroll over... and may miss some detail that was intended to be seen over there (or something).

That's why I've been posting mine at 600 wide.

I would actually like a few 1280 shots. All of the current images never seem to fit my desktop.

Best way would be to take those shots in the highest resolution possible, then to shrink them down and to offer the bigger version via link.

i take shots at 1024 and then lower them to 512. that way they look better imo.

Mine are always posted at 640x480. This hides the aliasing of the original 800x600 screens and allows me to keep the quality high without breaking the file size limit.

Hmmm, my computer won't even run HL at anything over 800-600

Because it throws off the width of the entire page - normal text posts go too wide, and you have to scroll back and forth to read them all.

1600x1200 is bigger than the resolution of my monitor. And I only have a laptop, so it's not like I can just go and buy a bigger monitor. Also, smaller size images have a smaller file size, which helps the page load faster, especially for those of us who aren't on broadband.

Personally, I think people should limit themselves to 18x18 pixels.

i open the bmp in photoshop, change size to 640x480, and save as jpg with quality of 8. this works well.
