    jDOOM has been out for years. there are lots better ports of it though. I like ZDoom myself. Others prefer legacyDOOM

    Indeed, Sam is a great game simply because it doesn't bother with any of the crap that modern games bother with, it just throws hundreds of enemies onscreen and you kill kill kill. Very fun, and a good change of pace from the Shakesphere-like storylines of other games. :P

    ZDoom has opengl too.

    I just prefer to keep doom looking like doom (but higher res). I don't want fancy colored lights or things. Mouselook is okay, but 3d models? No thanks.
