<div class="IPBDescription">..,and lived to tell about it!</div> The aliens had two hives on ns_bast. Our base (in the original marine start) was getting acid rocketed from the vents and the elevator shaft, and we knew we were doomed. All of a sudden, what looked like an acid rocket shot up the elevator shaft, stopped in midair, and fell back down. About three people screemed "Biiiiiiiiiiiile bombbbbbbbbb!!!!" over voice chat, and about the entire rest of the team said "OMG 3 hives we're screwed" in regular chat at the same time. I realized that we were indeed screwed, we had a mediocre com, no res nodes outside the base, and 3 hive aliens to deal with. I grabbed an HMG, waited for the fade to finish his volley, and jumped down the elevator shaft, HMG blazing. The same shaft watchers who had screamed about the bilebomb before all said "You nub don't jump down there!!!" and "U moron WTH are you doing?!?!". I unloaded the clip while trying and mostly succeeding to dodge acid rockets. I started to reload, hid behind one of the crates, and noticed the fade running away... I got out from behind the box before I was done reloading, and managed to finish him off before he got away <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'> <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'>

As far as NS goes I took down a hive with mines, a jetpack, health spam and a welder while 3 fades acid rocketed me.

Lol if this was about real life i'd have some storys for you, even more if my leg did't give out and i got to go to war, but no fate has once again kepted me out of urban combat ;-(. As for NS i once jumped on a Uno's back with a welder and he chould't get my off and i killed 3 of them like that. I had a JP incase you wanted to know how i got up there.

Once on eclipse I was out sneaking trying to get siege up near maint. We had motion tracking so when I saw a blip coming close I hid in the shadows in to cornour close by horse shoe (can't remeber its name). The blip came closer and closer untill a skulk came into view.and hid in the same cornour as me. I tried to stay very still untill finaly he left. I can't rember if I got the siege up (probably not) but to share a hiding place with the enemy without him knowing you're there was intense <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>

ok this was pretty intense but once in ns_trane on the Mayberry server, we had our base relocated in a hive and were unsuccesful in getting another hive and the aliens eventually got 2. we knew we were doomed and we were just trying to see how long we could hold off.

anyway, there was 1 fade that kept doing hit and run attacks on our base from one doorway. when the fade was gone for healing i went outside that doorway and hid in a room that the fade was passing through to get to our base. i hid to one side of the doorway that the fade enters. when the aliens enter the room they turn right to go to our base so i hid on the left side of the door. after waiting a while, 2 other marines show up in that room with me. they hide in stupid places. one hides on the right side of the door and one hides on the left side of it but not left enough, they are going to blow my ambush plan! i hear the fade approaching. i yell at the guys to get over closer to me. the second guy listens to me and comes over. the guy on the right side of the door doesn't listen to me yelling at him to get away from there and he dies from acid rocket from outside the door. i tell the guy next to me to not open fire until the fade passes us by some distance. i tell him to wait till the fade is nearly out the other side of our room. then i change my mind and tell him to not fire until the fade has fired a salvo at our base and is heading back for healing. just then i discover i was wrong about the fade. there is not a fade. there are 3 fades. they loom into the room and they stop in there with us. i say a big swear word on the voice com. one fade backs up a little and his heel seems to touch my knee. my friend and i stay absolutely still and silent. then the 3 fades move off to our base. just as they are about to leave the room, it looks to me as though one fade suddenly turns around and looks at me. without thinking i lose my cool and get up and charge at the fades opening fire with my lmg. my friend then does the same. we get badly wounded and manage to take down 1 fade. i killed him with my pistol. the other 2 fades seemed to have not noticed and had already left the room to attack our base. i then take up hiding position again in that room this time to the side of the other door. the space is small and my buddy squats on my head. i tell him wait till the fades head back for healing. just then the marines in base are screaming that they are being slaughtered and the base being destroyed. i tell my friend we must hold position. the marines in base keep screaming and i can't take it anymore so i tell my friend ok we're going in. we rush into base with our LMGs blazing while my friends in base are getting slaughtered. i get credited with 2 more fade kills. anyway i then had to go eat breakfast but i'm sure we lost but it's still fun to resist.

The most dangerous thing I have ever done (believe it or not, it isn’t sitting in front of a computer playing NS) was playing tag on snowmobiles. One snowmobile - two people. One is a driver, the other tags people. My sister and myself were on one and our friends on three others. My "elite" snowmobile driving skills kept my sister and I from crashing into 1) trees and 2) other people - but there was a second where I did bump into another snowmobile and almost (not really) lost control in front of a few trees....

It was a dark rainy day, me and my team were cornered in a wet and dirty place. Contact with HQ was down. Small aliens came out of the water and vents all around us. Bullets blazing and mines exploding totally killed any other sound. Lots of dead aliens and 500 lmg rounds later half our team was dead and the rest wounded and bleeding. Everyone of us had only one clip of ammo left when suddenly we heard an eerie chuckle comming from the vents. More and more chuckling started around us untill the sound became deafening. My best friend totally freaked out and ran into a dark corridor. Seconds later his bleeding head came out flying.... It was a dark day i can tell you. Then all of a sudden, contact with HQ was up again. Finally we could get orders again!

After all this blood and killing this is what we heard:
"get to your ****** waypoints you n00bs!" in a 12 year old high pitched nerdy voice.
Man i nearly **** in my pants but i survived.

One time I ate this Pot-Pie so hot I thought I was gonna die. I ate it though... and I survived - dam*it , I survived.

*EDIT* Fine, my most wacky/dangerous NS moment was a 1 on 4 JP Shottie Lerk Battle in Refinery, with 1 Fade rocketting at me from below. That was the best ever. I only managed to kill 2 Lerks over the course of like, 3 minutes, but it was intense. They were like pirahnas; they'd set themselves up, and then just fly by taking bites at me as they passed. It was like he matriX tho, cause as theyd do that they'd take a shottie to the face. Of course Hive healing was like, 2ft away, but it was a blast.

Ran into Bast Marine spawn as a Fade, attempting to kill IP's or Proto, only to find 4 x HA/HMG's in there, having just been outfitted. By the time I realised, it was HMG frenzy, so I ran around like a crazy clawing fool, killed one, killed a struct by accident that was two claws from death, then blinked <b>by sheer fluke</b> INTO the vent.

I've never managed to blink into that vent again, even on a LAN. But I did once, when it counted. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'>

Um once on nancy I was a marine, we had only 1 guy alive, the aliens had 3 hives, of course our IP's were dead. This guy didn't even notice he was the only one alive, but he had a jp hmg combo. Went through the vents, and actually managed to shoot down an entire hive, the only guy alive. He escaped and went for the second one but died on the way. It was really amazing to watch though.

This happened about a week ago while I was on the marine team on ecplise. The aliens had two hives up and fades started comming. The comm tried to jp/hmg the Comp Core hive from the vent, but a fade was camping CC and rocketing any marines who appeared. This happens twice. In addition, the gorge had lots of d chambers and o chambers blocking the enterances and scattered around the hive.

I get suited up with hmg/jp and told to finish off CC (which had taken quite a bit of hmg fire.) I head through the vent to CC and decide to blow through the vent at full speed to avoid any possible fades and dance around the hive as best as I can. As I go through the vent (my fps is 85+, so my jp speeds up <b>very</b> quickly) I see massive amounts of webbing from the floor to the ceiling of the hive. Webbing is directly in front of me, but I am going too fast to move in time, so I get webbed.

Here is where the story gets interesting. I was traveling so fast with my jet pack, that although I was webbed, I still had incredible forward velocity. I kept flying forward through CC and heard ::rip::::rip::::rip::::rip::::rip::::rip::::rip::::rip::::rip:: as I took out <b>all</b> of the webbing the gorge had put in the hive. To top it off, I landed in a spot in CC where D chambers blocked the O chambers acid spit for me. At this point, I am crouching, standing still in CC hoping for webbing to wear off before any alien players noticed me (no one was in the hive at this time.) With so much webbing I hit, I was webbed for about 20 - 30 seconds until my hmg finally swung out.

At that point, I fly up and take out the hive. Definately the most "elite" thing I ever accomplished accidentally. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'>

Went up a elevator ns_nothing as a fade just to find 4 marines in heavy armor and hmg waiting for me, so i instantly pressed the elevator switch back down and they all jumped on the elevator with me and I ran around in circle and they shot me a bunch of times but missed a lot by the time the elevator got down I manage to run with 6 health and 0 armor

I was playing an immensly long game on hera. About an hour into the game some other guy and I were selected by the comm because we were playing so well to go out and seige ventilation hive which was the aliens second hive, they currently had all three. This happened in 1.02 so the comm dropped us both HA and HMGs (god I wish comms still did that) and sent us off into those dark sewage tunnels by the hive. We get there and the comm gets us to start building a tf at the highest one, all the while were continuosly welding each other after wave after wave of fades. Once we got the tf up the comm dropped a few turrets, not too much as we didn't have much res and upgraded the tf. Then it happened, an onos is down below us going up the ladder about to munch our canned **** (thats a bad thing), I unloaded my clip into him and he got PWNED!!!! We kept getting attacked by fades and skulks while our first seige was going up. The fact that it was just the two of us and the comm dropping the odd medpack, it was pretty damn hard to defend with onos popping up every minute, so our seiges kept getting munched on and taken out, so we would rebuild and hope to hell it will last long enough. It's been about 30 minutes now and my sister is getting pretty **** off at me because shes been waiting to go on the computer the whole time, and our tf went down and the turrets with it. After that we lasted about 5 minutes. All in all we killed about 25 fades, 15 onos, 4715691347598 skulks and 1/2 a hive. Once we respawned back into our base we were right away harrased by fades and the round ended about 5 minutes later. We lost <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'>

runnin' up to a silver bear eatin' my buddies garbage, the bear stood up on its back legs and sniffed the air and glrrrowled and then started chasing me, i ran around the house and climbed up his back porch and got in his back door and locked it hehe the bear walked away and is the paper today for eating garbage cause its a silver bear(rare version of black bear)

Im sitting in base (sitting as in crouching) because i hear skulks comming.

3/4 skulks then come rushing into base (map where comm chair is elevated and has *breakable glass window* and ladder) and i <i>mow them all down with one clip.</i> My team all said and typed "Way to go, Maveric!". yeah, that was sweet. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>

Another time on another map (with amospheric processing) i was stealthing it up in my HA/LMG outfit in the vents that are closest to the elevator. there was no inf. portal so you now know we all died, BUT i managed to take down 3+ skulks and a lerk while i was in there; i asked a marine for his welder and to join me but he ran off and died soon after. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'> it was that moment that i knew i couldn't close vents that i was dead. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'>

I was playing on Ns_Nothing and was the last marine alive with no amo on a 24 player server. Im running to the Quad lift (the elavator with the big pole in the middle) when two Oni (apperantly the plural of onos) come around the coner. I run down the last 15 feet of the hall with the oni charging me, and hit the elevators button. I run in and they are trying to hit me, but i run around the pole and they chase me. Just before it gets to high i jump out of the elavotor leaving the two oni going down in it, unable to get at me. Next they paralyzed me and 6 skulks came and parasited me to death <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'>. I didnt survive, but it was pretty cool

We had JPs and lvl 2 or 3 weapons, but had recently lost sewer, but JPHMG had managed to keep vent hive down, as it was only 5 vs 5 or so, and they couldn't keep defenders up at vent often enough.... so anyway, we lose sewer, but take out vent, and then get killed. RE-outfit with JPs as they start sewer, I sneak into vent and am sitting crouched under the hive location as they take out our main base, so since I'm the last one alive I get a CC dropped in vent.
WE get IPs and an armory up before they find us, they have no overflow so there's only a slow stream of fades, mostly have to deal with skulks. With upgrades and height advantage we are able to hold them off until we could Get up a TF and enough sentries to keep fades from clawing the base to death; We got a few JP/HMG through to sewer and managed to take it out because the aliens are so occupied with vent, and secure base res and maybe sewer vest while we are out... and once they lost fades, we were able to flat out-spawn them and kill generator for victory! Was one of the best games I've played.
