Note the "select all" button to the left of the hotgroups. Also, someone has asked for ammo, so you can see the ammo button in the lower left. Clicking that will select the person and take you right to them for processing. The player names always draw above players so you can see where everyone is at all times.
Edit: also note the onos still has bite, hehe.
No-Life
And its finaly proven. Onos in its plural form is Oni.
Mr.Onos has brought his family.
This is gonna be awsome.

One of my tactics as a pub commander is to use player names as much as possible. I find that when you assign tasks/objectives to players (instead of saying, "Hey I need 'x' bunch of guys at 'y'") they seems to respond better to me. Another one of my tactics is always giving teams/individuals credit for good teamwork or good hard fought objectives, again people seem to cooperate better and even strive to work together when I verbally praise a team for following orders and holding any position. I think the impact of praising with names will help teamwork even more.
My theory is when you use names there is no, "Well I though someone else was on it." Instead of feeling like a meatshield being flung relentlessly into the fray by a uncaring commander I think when you start assigning tasks with individuals using their names it gives them a sense of personal responsibility. And when they start recieving compliments and praise for a job well done I think it gives them a sense of pride and accomplishment. Pretty soon people will start asking you what they should do and man that is music to any commanders ears. Willing marines ready to follow orders.
In the short, player names in commander mode is a fantastic improvement especially for pub teamplay.
It's strange, it's like you read my mind Flay. Just the other day I was reading a thread about comming and how people were afraid of it. I was going to put up a thread that discusses the people side of commanding and how to get the best of your marines by treating them like individuals within a team. I was going to make a case about the usefulness of having player names in commander mode all the time. It looks as thought you always had it in mind!
Thanks for paying attention to the uniquely human side of this RTS/FPS.
EDiT: Just wanted to add those other commander features are great as well.
Edit from Flayra: Sorry to edit your post, but I wanted to mention that NS is a _social_ strategy game and this human side of it is what really sets it apart from other strategy games. Good or bad, to really command well, you have to take the human side into account. Dale Carnegie would give you an A+ and you deserve it.
And on-topic now, I also wonder where the weapons and stuff are.
By the way, how is electrified TF supposed to work?
I thought it damaged the aliens who touched it, but on the picture a lightning bolt hits an onos.
Looks really nice though
Keep up the good work, can't wait for 1.1 to come out!
(as if I needed them to)

there is a radius around it, i dont know quite how far the range is though
but looks like the Electric TF isnt going to stand much chance against 4 Onos.
If that sorry lone turret had a face, I could just imagine what the expression on it would be right now
Whoever took that pic, I salute them for amazing timing and surviving long enough to take it.
It would be really nice to see that the damage of electrified TF decreases as it is more aliens around it,
for example when it is only one alien around it, it maybe does 10 damage/sec.
When it is two aliens, it does 5 damage/sec, and so on.
That way, it would stop a single rambo skulk, but not a group of them.
Anyway, I shouldn't really say anything, as I've never played 1.1
Thought the etf idea still seems abit wierd to me :/
About the crosshair... Is it default ? I like it.
