Looks pretty darn good for a first try.
Suggestions: Pics - try some various textures for the steps and watch your texture alignment. Also, it needs more lighting. The architecture looks pretty good so try some texture lighting in different areas and see what kind of shadows you can create.
General Mapping - if you're just starting out, don't try to create a masterpiece right out of the box. Try to build an idea. If it doesn't work, try another.

I dont mean to mislead though, I have used 3D modeling progz before. Never done levels or worldcraft though. I used Ts4 to make animations, for those of you who are into modeling. Thanks for the ego balooning. I got a cool Idea for a mpa now and Im gunna take your tips into account. Those shots were bits and pieces, but Ive got a cohesive plan. Hopefully I can put some shots of my progress today or tomorrow. Thanks again for the support.

Bytheway, for all you good mappers out there, feel free to steal my idea, but here it is. I think it might be cool to have like a big ship, but it would be a temple. Like a huge high tech cathedral-esque construction made to support the worshipping of thousands of colonists. A cathedral cruiser. Could even have a "tower" that could be the bridge of the ship. Im going to see what I can do and post what I get when I get it. Go ahead and steal my idea. Im just toying with worldcraft for my own fun.

Great lighting in that first room! I would brighten the lighting in the area in the third and fourth pics. Enough to make out details and textures, but not too bright, lest you ruin the moody atmosphere.
Keep up the great work <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
That architecture in the cathedral shots is pretty nice. My only suggestion is that the texturing needs some work. There are some misalignments, and possibly some new textures in order. All in all, I'd say it looks pretty good.
Great work for a new mapper, and even not-so-new mappers. But as mentioned before, texturing needs a lot of attention. Also the newer shots look repetitive, could use different architecture instead of repeating the same arches over and over.

Personally, I think that the "cathedral cruiser" idea is a sweet idea. Most original. I'm rather tempted to do something like that after my current project... but I don't know if I'd feel quite right. <!--emo&???--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo--> Man, have I got some ideas though. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
Anyway. To the point. As far a criticism goes... Again, I'd work on the texturing. Maybe find a texture with less of a design on it for the arches.

Thanks for the advice, I'll work on those textures an break up the monotony, I also wanna do one or two actual rooms today, so check back and criticize as you wish, thanks.
First off i'm not a mapper so my opinion doesn't count for much, but......... 1.Architecture is really great I liek it all (except for the upper stair in the first pic has a wierd chape and doesn't fit in i think) 2.You need to work on the textures 3.You need to work on the lightning
Especially the lightning is important as they can make or break a map in NS.
LOL wierd i was posting a reply and when i did there were suddenly like 5 new replies and a new pic <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->, lightning is much better in the last one!
I wish i knew how to make a map... then i would take like 30 pics, make em into 30 post`s and name the topic "ns_hitman" then i would make another topic called "ns_hitman, a closer look"
and have 5 zoom version pictures, which would make (30x5) 150 posts! then i would make it five times in every section! twice! then i would have had a count of around a thousand posts... oh, i whis i knew how to map...
but, seriously, nice work, keep it up <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
Please tell me you're not using carve to make those archways <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
Very nice work, especially for a first map. I look forward to seeing how your work evolves!

Good luck, keep up the good work.
Look out for those windows, don't forget we've got wallclimbers in this mod.

Archecture looks cool but the texturing looks a bit haphazard. Otherwise, you have far outdone me in the first map department.
