Worst Famous Actor/actress.

USA is really a land of opportunity.

Even pathetic actors can become filthy rich and famous celebrities.

Let's start a list. One person/group per post.

I'll begin with

1. Arnold Schaesnakeher. Not only that I can never spell his name. He always read the freaking dialogue. No emotion, nothing. His most famous role is the one without any dialogue. Christ, muscles sure carry people far. Even Stallone proved he can act even a little bit. See Rocky, heck even some of his failed comedies. Arnold simply can't act, he will not survive w/o Cameron.

I don't know of an Arnold Schaesnakeher. But if you mean Arnold Schwarzenegger, you sir, have never seen an "Arnold movie." Arnold has a deep accent and can't fix that, he can't really "Show" emotion with that accent but he can kill you with it. And he does a pretty damn good job in "True Lies" if you've seen that. ANYWAY....

    -=Worst Actor=-

Aaron Eckhart (From the Core, if anything else.)

    -=Worst Actress=-

    J. Lo (Acting+Singing lessons would help, I act better than her.)

Maybe it's because my last name is 'Schwarzer', but I always had a rather soft spot in the frozen lump of flesh that's supposedly my heart when it comes to that massive hunk of amphetamines. I really like his comedies - if only because they prove he doesn't take himself serious.

    Aaanyway...

    Worst Actor:

Tie between Mark Hamil and Keanu Reeves. Thank god Star Wars and Matrix are good enough movies to compensate for their leads complete lack of talent.

    Worst Actress:

I'm going to agree with Liku on that one.

And of course, the man with one facial expression, Mr Segal...pick any movie, they are equally shocking.

And an honourable mention to Patrick Swayze

    Lies!

And even if it was true, this is rendered unimportant by the "kung fu chicks in tight trousers" factor.

Edit: And yes, Hugh Grant is a floppy fringed fool.

I'll try something different and suggest a rather large group of television actors: any stand-up comedian who gets his own show (ie: "The Insert Name Here Show"). While a lot of comedians have a good stand-up bit, I've never seen any comedian be even moderately convincing as an actor in their own show.

For example, I was never a huge fan of "Seinfeld", but his stand-up shows are actually quite good - I'd suggest renting "I'm Telling You For The Last Time" - it's actually worth the cost.

"The Bernie Mac Show", IMO, lacks any comedic appeal whatsoever. A few one-liners from BM, a lot of typical situations, and then the credits roll.

There are many more of these shows of course, but I tend to automatically avoid any show with the title formula mentioned above.

I like Keanu Reeves if only for the part he plays in the Bill and Ted movies : )

You know which actor really pisses me off? It isn't so much the actors fault, but I guess more the script, but Sam from Lord of the Rings. I can't stand him! He comes off as such a outrageously stupid character in the second movie, that I just want to thump him on the nose and burn off his foot hairs with my lighter.

I can't think of any truely appauling actors at the moment, though. I'm tempted to say Micheal Douglass but I really can't remember anything he's been in or even what his acting's like, but my friend said that any movie he's in isn't worth watching. Perhaps someone can shed light?

Not a huge Michael Douglas fan, but he gets bonus points in my book for being in "Falling Down"..

Tom Hanks..for some reason he always annoyed me. I actually cheered when he got offed in Saving Private Ryan..

Ok, add another name to my you-know-what list. Philistines!

    Worst Actor:
I'll say Segal for now, but let me think on that.

    Worst Actress:
    Heather Graham.

The only thing more wooden than me watching her is her acting.

    See? That's called dramatic range!!!

He plays both a good guy, and a semi-bad-guy-who-is-going-to-see-the-error-of-his-ways-after-a-really-awkwardly-bad-drunk-scene.

How many other actors have done that? In several movies?
  • CrouchingHamsterCrouchingHamster Join Date: 2002-08-17 Member: 1181Members
    True, very true.

He practically invented the "beating up your evil twin in a low budget martial arts movie" sub genre.

But is it really necessary to have him doing the splits in his undies in every damn movie?

Because I for one, don't want to see that..:/

Worst actor: Nic Cage. I mean, sure, Seagal and Van Damme etc are bad, but at least they we all know and accept it, whereas Cage has inexplicably acquired a reputation as an A-list actor, despite his lack of any discernable talent or dramatic range. Partial credit for Adaptation, however.

Worst actress: Madonna. The paradigm of why a musician-to-actor transition is a regrettable exercise for all concerned, not least the viewing public.
  • AgentOrangeAgentOrange Join Date: 2002-11-18 Member: 9244Members
Segal, just the thought of his movies make me cringe. He's the WORST actor EVER.

I can't stand actors who always play the same roles too, like someone had mentioned, Hugh Grant.

TONY DANZA sucks the big one too. His name in every movie/show/PBS Telethon is Tony, always Tony. I have NEVER seen someone do so little with their imagination.

Some other TERRIBLE actors, (who are probably technically worse than Segal, but I just hate him so much I put him as worst) are Shaq (WHAT THE F......) and Sinbad (HOOOOOLLLLLY COW)
  • CrouchingHamsterCrouchingHamster Join Date: 2002-08-17 Member: 1181Members
Na, Nic Cage is kinda cool imo..

He's been in some top no-brainers..The Rock, Con Air..er..Wild at Heart.

Shame about 8mm and Gone in 60 seconds though..

Although, the great thing about Segal is that he's guaranteed at least one running scene in a movie . . . and he has the most feminine run ever. Did anyone catch it when they did the segment on it on the Daily Show? Funniest thing I've ever seen.

Watch Raising Arizona then Leaving Las Vegas in a row. Nicolas Cage is a fine actor.

And Hamster - Wild at Heart is not a no-brainer. /me waves his Lynch flag

    ---

Worst actor (maybe not worst, but certainly very undeserving of every paycheck he gets): Ben Affleck - ruiner of all he touches

Kevin Costner. All he can play are Iowa Farm Boys.

Heh, was sorta kidding about Wild at Heart..

And I completely forgot Leaving Las Vegas..

Went to Segal's webby, I was curious to hear his musical dabblings but I finally got rid of realplayer and I aint reinstalling it for that..

Meanwhile, here's a picture of Segal sporting a tasteless shirt and a panda.
