<div class="IPBDescription">to ripent or not to ripent</div> I know Ken20Banks is working on a 1.1 version of ns_nothing fixing the res imballance, ability to kill a hive trough the vent and more but I want this map to be more ballanced in its res placement NOW.
So I played around with ripent, deleted the res in cargo, moved the Res close to Marine spawn to the other side, added a "Natural selection" hologram in the ReadyRoom and called this rip-off "ns_allbutnothing".
Cargo still has ~1 more res than the oter hives but this res is spread more away from the hive itself and is not worth an early rush anymore because this little more res is harder to defend for its prize.
Release it or kill me?

Legalities aside, I really can't say I personally appreciate this.
I'm perfectly capable of making these changes myself, and am not sure why you decided you needed to take it into your own hands.
I would have been more open to a direct suggestion, either through email or a forum post here. For example, I do actually think that change you made by moving the node near the marine start to the other room is pretty interesting. Might be something to consider. Thing is, I think a lot of people would be pretty surprised by the actual number of suggestions I've directly received on issues like this before having to witness the complaints third-hand, or even have it come to measures as drastic as this. It rhymes with "hero".

Sorry, I appreciate your inentions, but I'm going to have to request that you don't release the modified map. I can only see it harming the real map's playtime and credibility, and that's not something I'd be thrilled about.

I dont think any mapper would be thrilled with this kind of behavior.

The difference being, if you have a good reason, he <i>may</i> grant permission to use the original source files. A respectible way to go around it rather than simply ripping and replacing the entities without asking any sort of permission.
its not like it haxed the map, and released it saying it was his!

he simply moded an existing map, just for his sake!
