    Er.. downloading is bad, mmmmkay.. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Well, unless you mean "legitamately free" (as in a few songs on a band's website), and not "illegal free" (as in Kazaa).

    There's two full downloadable tracks at <a href='http://www.barrycanning.com/soulparade.htm' target='_blank'>Barry Canning</a>'s website - he's a local artist here in Newfoundland, Canada. His tunes are pretty catchy mainstream-type songs, played on acoustic guitar. He puts off a great live show!!

    There will be no talk of illegal activities on these forums. (:

    That said, I've recently encountered the band "Kidneythieves." They're an industrial-ish band with a female lead vocalist who has a lot of edge in her voice. Their most recent album, Zer0space, absolutely rocks. Personal favorites off it include "Before I'm Dead," "Zer0space," and "Glitter Girl."

    That being said, as for music, one word: The Aquabats.

    Suggestions could be better if you maybe listed some stuff that you already liked. I do suggest that everyone goes out and "buys" the soundtrack to the movie Carwash (back in the 70's). Done by a band called Rose Royce, this is simply the funkiest spit out there. See if you can find:
    Rose Royce - Righteous Rythm
    Oh man thats a good song.

    It totally depends on what you like.

    Papa Roach - Anything from the Infest Album (and maybe the lovehatetragedy)
    System of a Down - Anything they made <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
    Nirvana - Anything on their concert CDs (muddy wishkah's the one I got. Looking for the NY one)

    I tend to like anything with a good beat, such as that overseer one which i've heard before. I don't really like extreme metal, rap, or pop, but somewhere in between them. I think i'll take a look at that other thread "what are you listening to now"

    I hate people that are like

    "ooh Linkin park (and others) suck. I R TEH "elite" I R LISTEN TO TEH MARYLIN MANSON!!! TAHTS TEH REEL MOOSIK"

    As it isn't fake music, since you really can hear something your argument has no sense. If you don't like it, fine. don't touch it. Don't try to convince everyone of anything. If they really sucked they wouldn't exist.

    Remember even Britney Spears has her fans <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    As far as my suggestion goes, any type of classic rock. Y'know-- Stones, Zeppelin, AC/DC, etc.

    <i>edit:</i> Oh! The Hives <b>rock</b>, so check them out. Some of my fave songs by them are Die Alright!, Knock Knock, and Hate to Say I Told You So.

    Alright...
    When did I ever say <i>anything</i> like "I R TEH 'elite' "? (By the way, you cannot have a quote in a quote, it would have to be a ' instead of ")
    I could re-read my post, however I dont think I have forgotten what I said, seeing as how I am not that idiotic.
    Perhaps you should re-read it though?
    I believe I said something along the lines of "I like real music, not Linkin Park," which is in no way saying they're "fake" music. If I were to hit a drum a few times in a random beat that would be music. It wouldnt be fake.
    What I meant by that (obviously) too advanced statement, for you, is that I like songs with more meaning, songs with more heart, especially classics, not this new age **** on a curb appearance music.
    Go back to N'Sync you miserable waste of bandwidth.

    All of the following are freely available music and still pretty good for a laugh or for listening

    M.C. Hawking: www.mchawking.com
    The wheelchair-bound, internationally acclaimed theoretical physicist who speaks through a synthesizer does rap old-school. Home of PC Gamer's official GTA3 theme song (they noticed his talents with his previous hit, "All My Shootings Be Drive-By's")

    MC Frontalot: www.frontalot.com
    A self-declared nerd makes a new style of rap -- nerdcore. Home of the official Penny Arcade theme song.

    DigitallyImported: www.di.fm *or* www.digitallyImported.com
    Dozens of streaming channels for Trance, Euro Dance, House, etc. Features occasional live mixes or audio/video webcasts of the party the DJ is at. Quality ranges from 24k to 128k streams.

    Adrenaline pumper / deathmatch ultimate background music option:
    DigitallyImported's "Happy Hardcore" channel. I can practically guarantee you, you will <i>not</i> hear a song on there slower than 240 beats per minute. It's unfortunate that some songs on that channel are just plain boring to listen to, but when a good one starts up, <i>whoooooboy</i> you're in for an adrenaline treat. Pump up the bass, get a touch of caffiene through your system, and you'll be feeling like <a href='http://www.reallifecomics.com/d/20021230.html' target='_blank'>this</a> with results like <a href='http://www.reallifecomics.com/d/20021231.html' target='_blank'>this</a>.
