Im on 56k so i dont expect a good ping, its usually 150-220 but recently ive been getting tons of choke when im playing. my rate is 3300, cl_cmdrate is 30 and cl_updaterate is 22. I dont ever remember getting this much choke when i 1st started playing. Could it just be the servers ive been playing on, or is it my connection. and is there anything i can do to get it down

    My guess would be it's either the servers or your ISP is doing weird dances to the allmighty Phil

    I managed to get 100 choke on 512k broadband.
    Turned out the 'Connection speed' drop down list in server listings was set to 14k modem <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
    Set it back, and it's fine.
    Make sure your Connection Speed is set right.

    how to fix choke 100 problem with the console

    rate 99999

    type in rate and press enter...if its like 5k or less, thats why you're choke suckzors =)

    i dont think im suppose to set my rate up past 5k because im on 56k and it shuld be around 3k-3500, ill try tho

    I have the exact same problem. 64k ISDN, everything used to be fine. Suddenly, I'm getting lots of choke.

    I still have no clue how to fix it, or why it even it happened. :/
