Goto <a href='http://www.modns.org' target='_blank'>Mod NS Website</a> to get the player health/hive health plugin. Go under the metamod section to find it.

    As far as players overflowing.

    Give us your specifics:

    Machine Specs (Running your HLDS)
    Connection Type
    Operating system
Current mods installed (i.e. Metamod, Adminmod, etc...)

Post that and people will help.

Overflow in my experience has happened when too many messages appear on the clients. This can happen with a consgreet that is too big, or by spamming timeleft/nextmap commands for example.

Perhaps that will help you figure it out.

I'd be happy to know of a clientside fix for this...
This has been plaguing me for a while now :S

It may not be the server crashing from map's and plugin's.
I'm just curious, do you have AdminMOD or AMX with Flood-filter?
If everyone is just suddenly dropping, like an entire team, then it's somebody flooding the server with 100 message's.
If you don't have any flood filter it'll just kick everyone out of the server.
This is one of the original "exploits" of the game that came out in 1.0

    HLDS 3.1.1.0.....

    You need 4.1.1.0

Also are you sure your connection isn't dropping? I've had some moments where my network has gone down for about 2 mines mid game and people overfow then.

Wrong roob, HLDS 3.1.1.0 is the latest HLDS for Linux...
HLDS 4.1.1.0 is for win32 ONLY.

That happens on my server too (it also does that on other mods that the server runs)

I hate to do this, but okay maybe i can ventilate my frustration slightly. There is a cheat or hack that will overflow players out of the server, i was playing on that my favourite server a while ago, the dude(=referring 'OldSkool HaXx0r' is the ingame name he used), said that "its over, gg" and Bang, everyone got kicked out with "overflowed" error. <!--emo&--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->

Anyway, i'm not saying that this is happening on your server but just letting your admins know about the hax.. if your server is overflowing alot(very frequently) check your logs, it might have something about the reason.

As for a client side fix, I found on older versions of voogru's servers (back in January) and with most res sharing plug-ins. Overflows can be reduced by using a higher 'rate'. I changed mine from 3100 to 9999 and I haven't had any serious overflows since then, although they do happen from time to time. (AND SERVERS KEEP CHANGING MY RATE) <!--emo&--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->

AHHHH!how do i get rid of overflows?i.e if i use a metamod script what spawns monsters, use the function, all clients in my server get overflowed, shortly after my server shutsdown and it goes back to windows O_o.althought the script uses preloading function to get the monsters sounds etc, sometimes it refuses to launch up and get message preloading blablalabla/islave/charge1.wav caused server overflow etc, sometimes it lets me launch but when somebody joins and i got monster(s) spawned,my server crashes and it says Balbalbla Caused Client server overflow... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> but when everybody has joined already(server full),the overflow doesnt happen.. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

If you're using plugins that create entities and send messages to players, you're going to get more overflows. As far as I know, the official "vanilla" version of NS didn't ship with any overflows (except maybe in extreme situations where you drop 50 turrets or mines in one room or something).

The first thing I would do to reduce overflows is to remove your custom plugins. I bet that mine beam plug-in is doing it.

Thats funny I have the same plugins, plus adminmod, and It never crashes except on siege005. My system is on Windows, so maybe that makes a difference.
