If you need some good textures you could always check out Zuljin's Texture Factory, IIRC he's done some amazing stone/rock textures and allows anyone to use them so long as they give him credit.
Here's an example of his work:
This is unlike any layout I have ever seen. I can't really understand it. Are those big grey areas rooms? If they are, they are way too big and there are too few of them. It seems very open, and basic. Looks like the frist one to setup turrents wins the game. If you really want to have a mine area I suggest you look at this thread and read my comments. I think it is VERY hard to have a mine-like area and still keep it up with the NS theme. I think you should look at some other layouts that mappers made then start over. This just seems too basic to me, its hard to explain.. We're off to kill the wizard! The wonderful wizard of Oz!
If you are refering to those red-looking ones that Asraniel used they dont really fit the NS theme at all. NS's theme is dark and cold -- I really like the texture mart is showing you, it fits in with NS well. These are merly suggestions.. Two of these, in like a 6 second time period?!!?!?! INSANE!!

It is better than before but still not to a point where you should make a map from it. If the aliens rushed the marines, game over. Aliens win. You should make it more complex -- more rooms, more hallways, more space inbetween the aliens and the command station. I will assume the pink things are alien only vents -- if so, then I dont like how there is a Rescourse point in one of thier vents. I also dont think it is fair that the upper right hive gets 2 resource points.
