It's KINDAAAAA like a cross between Pokemon and Digimon. That's not too say the series is bad, it's just not my cup of tea.
EDIT: Forgot to answer your question. Dragon Drive is only available in a fansub format (Japanese audio /w English subtitles) and has not been licensed by any American dubbing group (They take the series and use English voice actors)
Ask me anything. I am an Anime Encyclopedia.

Chobits is a 27 episode series (Yes, that's right. 27, not 26. There is an extra episode listed as 27)
Though an excellent series, it is far from the greatest series of all time.
If you want tear jerking watch Saishuuheiki Kanojo (English title adapation, She The Ultimate Weapon) or Grave of the Fireflies (Excellent period film as well)
No if, no but.
Don't want to be harsh. But I'm kinda sick of every single Cartoon Network's lousy dubs being called "greatest anime" ever every single time.

infinitum - one of my most favorite scenes in animatrix as well. she kind of reminded me of mamimi from flcl..one of my favorite animes of all time.
gorgebush - that movie was okay. just a little drawn out for me... blood lust had a whole lot more bloody action. stupid hand was annoying.. does every horror movie have to have a comedy relief?
funny pic..

HelloKitty: I found Bloodlust to be by far, much worse than the original. As you said, it was just mindless jabbing and stabbing and shooting. That is not my style at all.
I prefer the 100% yumminess of Vampire Hunter D (original).
it's cute when the dragon is tiny like that.
gorgebush - well.. that's a shame! i love blood, guts, and gore.
<- sick ****

When will the live action Akira happen? Why did Vampire Hunter D2 have such crappy audio. And Does Outlaw Star have more than one season?
So so so true. I've watched the whole series through numerous times, but i still cry at the end.

My prized posessions. Need more.
*crosses fingers*
Never, hopefully.
An anime series (26 episodes) that ran back in about 2001 made by the all-female manga team of CLAMP. IT was set in the very very very not so distant future where computers took the form of cute girls, known as "Persocons". The anime follows the life of a Student (Hideki Motosuwa) studying to get into university. Rest assured lots happen on the way.
The animation is top notch, the story is compelling to say the least, and you get +so+ attached to the characters you never want it to end. But it does unfortunately.
Oh, and it's also probably my favourite thing in the world.
Mahoromatic man. Best anime evar, especially when you find out that Gainax screws all the fans over AGAIN, a la evangelion. Man I love Gainax, they rock and make people hate their guts every time
But seriously, I think Excel Saga is the best anime (well, most entertaining). You'd only understand it if you watched lots of other anime though.
[/HIJACK]
The follow up for Excel Saga (Puni Puni Poemi wasn't it?) was absolutely fantastic. And yeah, it did have a certain appeal to your average otaku, especially the ending

- There have been talks with Fox Studios I believe to produce the live action version of Akira. No official confirmation as of yet, a very very very nasty rumour. I'll find the article if I can.....
EDIT: Found it. CLICKY! It is OFFICIALLY confirmed Stephen Norrington will be directing, James Robinson will be developing the script and Jon Peters will be producing. I personally am dreading this movie, simply for the fact that the original Akira movie was a summary of a gigantic manga series (comics) and they left several parts out. Now the live action version will be toned down (Hardly any drug, rape or extreme violence) and 'Americanised'. I am not looking forward to this movie.
The studio was Warner Bros, not Fox.
- Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust was originally dubbed in English, thus no Japanese track. The audio came in 2.0 Stereo and 5.1 Dolby Surround. Where's the crappy audio? @_0
- Outlaw Star ran for a total of 26 episodes (Not the 25 that aired in the US because of the nudity in Ep23(?)) There is no second season. HOWEVER. There is a spin off series set in the same universe entitled Angel Links, which is also available on DVD. IMO it is nowhere near as enjoyable as Outlaw Star was.
- Chobits aired for a total of 26 eps PLUS a special of sorts that was entitled Ep27. ANDDDDD If your after more Chobits manga TokyoPop is taking care of the USA distrobution translated into English. (MUCH cheaper than importing from Japan, trust me) Clicky for info
- Mahoromatic aired for 12 original eps in 2001 (Not including specials) and was concluded in a second season of 14 eps in 2002. Yes, the FINAL episode does seem to be rushed out and extremely retarded, but it answered a few questions I had. Still, they could have done a LOT better.
- Puni Puni Poemi was the 'official' 'sequel' to Excel Saga. Created by the same production team and the same art style. There are several extremely sublte references to Excel Saga, but that's about it on the continuity front.
what the damn.
