<div class="IPBDescription">The mapping has begun. screens inside!</div>I've been experimenting with multiple func_illusionaries. Nice holo there and a new door tex here:
yeah it makes it harder to read, maybe use on layer, and put a scrolling texture on it, if that's possible, put some static on it make the holo flicker, or use scanlines! We all like scanlines d:D
er... the sign makes it look like the player is seeing through the eyes of a drunk or someone who is not sober to say the least... neat effect, but really distracting from the purpose of the sign: to inform. it is a pain to read in the 1st shot: looked like "warbhouse" I'd like to see this effect maybe added to a malfunctioning screen or holographic display, as it is a neat effect in itself, just not appropriate for a sign.

I think this would be lovely in the readyroom, but maybe not in the map itself. As Biomechanoid said, signs are made to inform, not to make you squint and have to move around to see what the sign says.
Yeah, your right i guess. it's easy to read ingame though. i'll save it for the readyroom. how do you like my door then?
EDIT: btw, lucky i noticed the type-o i made in photoshop. the sign could have said "warehoes" <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->
1) If you wanted to show off a second layer, then you could put the sign behind glass. One layer would be from the sign itself, and the second layer would be the projection onto the glass. Dirty glass would give you an excuse to use this cool effect. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
2) Change it back to "WAREHOES", but don't tell anyone. Submit the map. Once NS is released, join a game, and hang around that area as an alien. Eat the first marine that comes by and is confused by the sign.
I like the idea you had but I think you might have gone just a tab overboard. How about only making it have one reflection, instead of 2. Then it would probably be more easy to read.
I call it ns_labrats cause it's set in a laboratory where scientist studied the aliens. When the aliens escaped and infested the place the humans became the labrats. get it now? Very paradoxal eh? <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
doctopepa : wasn't your inspiration in first picture max payne? it looks like laboratories under new york <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->

I like your architechture and texturing! One thing really strikes me here is that you have many lights, but the room is dark. The lights just don't seem to be doing anything, and much of your brushwork is lost in the shadows.
Just in case, you may want to check your brightness, contrast, and gamma settings. They tend to make a big difference.
Yea, i like it. but too dark. <!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo-->
maybe. but, you see, if i made brighter from the beginning you'd say "it's too bright!" Period! <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
