Client.dll Error

<div class="IPBDescription">PLEASE HELP!</div> I havent been able to play NS for about 4 months now because i keep getting a client.dll error as soon as i try to load a server up. Before it connects to the server an erorr message comes up saying
Could not load library C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\ns\cl_dlls\client.dll
ive tried downloading a friends client.dll
and it worked for a little while
but now its screwed again..
what and how can i fix this problem without having to
a) reinstall ns
b) reinstall hl
( unfortunatly i have a **** cap for my cable internet and i cant waste it by download update after update )

next up:
Don't run from the desktop icon, its bugged <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> (this is probably the problem)
or you don't have HL updated all the way, but I doubt that.
client.DLL errors meens that you are running a diff version of the mod/HL
and it worked fine till now
i play cs and dod so its not my HL or NS version seeing that there is only 1 version available for download ( client side )..
( i make copies of **** i replace so yeah i still got the orginals for the dll thingy )
and i run ns thru HLSW
and all seeing eye
and just the normal half-life way
and neither of them work
and ive never updated models or changed anything but the client.dll
but like i said b4 i got a back up of my original file
and ive tried with both..

bah I just woke up and am dead tired
all I can think of is to try installing the 1.04 patch (I know it is server but what ever I am tired <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->)
