Im making an NS map, and im in desperate need of an animated texture of snow falling. I know there is a sprite like this, but i need a texture. Plz if anyone knows where i can find one, tell me. Thanx <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

Anyway, if you're just planning on doing it behind a window or something, you should be able to get away with using a steam puff texture scaled real low. There's a lot of those in the NSTR.
Oh, and I don't remember seeing you around here before, so I'm not sure if you're aware that ns has a particle system. Would make doing your snow real easy and more natural looking than the old conventional methods. You don't even need an animating sprite. For more information on that and the environment and atmosphere that NS focuses on, check out the <a href="http://www.natural-selection.org/MappingGuidelines.htm" target="_blank">Mapping Guidelines.</a> <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
Mas beat me to it... concerning the PS that is.

"Need supplies"
"Can't leave this area undefended. Players X and Z report to windows for ammo and guns"
"Roger that commander"
Err... what?
Was I rude, or something? My comments were sincere, not sarcastic... I don't get the jollies from making fun of people, so you must have read me wrong.
Yeh, im backing up ken on this one.
Ken is one of the nicest guys in the NS community, so if you took offense to that I dont think you should post screenshots of your map and ask us what we think. We give great feedback to mappers here, but you have to understand that we do not intend to me mean, and I dont think we sound that way. Before posting shots of your map, just relax a little and if someone says "that texture does not look good and the lighting is all wrong" dont take offense to it.
Ender, I recommend that you hold off mapping until you thoroughly read
<a href="http://www.natural-selection.org/MappingGuidelines.htm" target="_blank">The NS Mapping Guidelines Document</a>.
Then you might stop in
<a href="http://www.natural-selection.org/cgi-bin/ikonboard/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=4;t=69" target="_blank">This Thread</a>
for some examples of cool particle effects.

im sorry that was mean of me, but he did close down one of my topics.. even though it was a noobie one
It's nothing personal. It's usually just to make sure that a thread doesn't move into something similar to a flame thread directed at someone, or a thread that seems trollish, whiny, or generally annoying to a moderator.
After reading the Particle System Guides and such that have been provided, if you still have a problem making the snow fall properly, feel free to make another thread in here.
