So Veterans and Playtesters, can you please explain in great detail all the new/updated animations going into 1.1?

I was told there would be 1 new marine animation and 1 new weapon animation.

also, can you please tell us the animation process of Devour? we all want to know <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

And are the animations that were in place, but weren't in 1.0, now in 1.1?

    I believe there are new death animations for skulks in place, but as memory serves the lerk is still confusing when it dies. But I'm also pretty sure animations were/are on the "back burner", and may be added later.

    Devour... you get eaten by the onos, and your screen is a view of the belly of the beast (red colored stomach which pulsates kinda thing). Readyroom and kill commands are disabled while being devoured. After the devour time is done, you die (duh).

    The onos is shown a "devour status bar" at the bottom of his screen, showing the percentage of devour (100% = marine dies). The onos also receives health from the devouring marine, kinda like regen (but less powerful I believe). The onos is free to fight and kill other marines while devouring, except he can't devour a 2nd marine <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->.

    Other marines just see their comrade disappear, I don't know if a special "being eaten" animation is planned.

    is the amount of health recieved from the marine related to the health of the marine (ie do full heath marines give the onos 100hp, while 5hp marines only give 5hp)

    maybe the time to devour could also be related - 100 hp marines take 50 seconds but give 100hp, while 2 hp marine take 1 second and only give 2 hp

    Seeing as how you get slowly hurt until you die it would be VERY strange if you were in there for 10 extra seconds after death if you got devoured with 2 HP....

    /me imagines a diet conscious Onos washing down the 1st marine with a diet coke and going for a quick work out at the gym...

    What i want to know is when the unused player and marine structure animations will be added to the game? If you use HLMV and view many of the marine structure animations you will see they include death animations where the structure topples over... the arms labs looks so cool when it topples over forwards and the extended front panel buckles under it!!! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I've only noticed the new gorge jump and death animations, but the lerk seems to play its death animation more often.

    So, if you´re devoured, you loose constantly health, but if, i say IF the onos is taken down, while devouring, the devoured marine pops out with its health left.

    Is this right?

    I'd have thought that it wouldn't literally put the marine inside the Onos - the marine is taken out of the game (in effect) until either his time runs out, or the Onos kicks the bucket. so the /stuck shouldn't have any effect. Obviously, I don't know for sure.

    Can the marine hear the desperate acts of fellow soldiers outside of the Onos?

    If muffled gunfire, bullet impacts on the onos (like the bullets in umbra 'thwump thwump'), muffled voicecomm came through, I think that would really add to the experience <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    One way of telling how close you are to being fully digested is by listening. The echo of noises changes a bit from when you've just gotten into the belly of the beast to when the Onos is about to be done eating you.

    You can still voicecomm and hear voicecomm as normal, so far. You'll be hearing a lot of "Get me out of here!" type exclamations.

    I would assume so, but it's too much trouble to reconnect and rejoin just to save 30 secs. Besides, you probably wouldn't be able to join marines again as most people prefer that <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Some questions answered here... i hope... parasite animation is new, the skulk kinda **** his head while he shoots it. Gorge jump animation is also new, and reather cute to add =P. We have not had the ability to use third party plugins while testing the game at this point, so /stuck has not been tested while being eaten. I have never had a problem telling the difference between dead and alive lerks, however now on occasion, i empty some bullets into a dead skulk. On the menu ith all the names of teamates ect(tab) you can see next to the name of the marine being eaten by the onos, that is does in fact say something to the extent of devr... i dont recall exactly what it says.You can in fact hear all the action going on around you as your onos is batteling your allies. I am not exactly sure what the new marine animations are, but i know that they have all new crosshairs, and that the gun sounds are revised.

    I think that answers most of the questions...

    ahh, i see one i missed.... they do not spit up anything, and there are no limitations. if an onos can capture a HA guy with a welder and a grenade launcher, then he just effectivaly sucked up a good chucnk of marines resources.

    actually the onos does spit the gun out after the marine is digested.
