What Will Become Of Owt...

O Changed offensive chambers to shoot spikes instead of spit
O Removed visible lerk projectiles (because the spikes hit instantly)

These 2 worry me...
Now how will I practice bulletdodging to become the successor of neo, the allmighty owt ?

Flayra said that ocs and trrts and sieges would acquire (or how u spell it) their targets fast, but will the oc with spike also shoot faster?
  • LuxLux Join Date: 2002-11-17 Member: 9078Members
yes, the ocs are more effective, also because they are too tall to jump over.

and yes lerk projecticles hit instantly, but spike damage has been reduced slightly

Neither the OC globs nor the lerk spike effect accurately represented the shot being fired at you anyway. Attempting to 'dodge' either in 1.04 is pointless as the effect itself does not deal damage.

when it says "removed visible lerk projectiles" does that mean it just no longer curves down or do you not see the spikes at all anymore and therefore wont be able to trace the spikes back to the lerk shooting at you?

There is no tracer for lerk spikes anymore.

If you read up more, you would have known that the lerk spiked never did curve down (in 1.04 at least) and the modles responsible for that illusion have been removed.

Spikes are much more suited to the offense chamber. They are more powerful and I believe they are more accurate. Visually they make sense also. After all, the offense chambers are covered in spikes

Sounds like a fair trade for the loss of WoL's

tis good really... i mean having lerk spikes is like having a little silver ball heading at you when we fire the guns...

the lerk spike did curve down. the damage, however was treated as hit-scan ie - it happened where your cross hair was. the only thing that flayra has done to the spikes is remove the animation of the spikes flying through the air and curving downwards (i dont know about the hit effect) so essentially, the spikes havent changed one bit.

silence + no visible spike is going to be hot

*marines guarding powersilo go WTH! when their turrets just start blowing up for no reason*

Sorry to say this but silence + spikes doesn't sound 'hot' it sounds 'cheap.'

Aside from the possible overpowering of the electrified TF and res, 1.1 seems geared at alien power. Hope I'm wrong (after all the veterans are testing and they would figure this out.....right?)
