A Wee Lerk Question That May

<div class="IPBDescription">stop the bite bikering</div> How long does it take for spikes to kill an unupgraded marine in 1.1? Just now in 1.04 it takes about 3-4 seconds. ALSO will spikes actually do Heath damage to heavy armours now? or still take only 1 armour point every hit.
the spikes will have to kill faster i guess for people to accept that bite is gone :o

    Sorry DarkFrost, it's not about how quickly you can kill a marine, it's about the style of play. Lerks (to the biters) should be swooping about, biting marines who come too close. The reason they don't like the loss of bite is because spiker-lerks tend to sit on the floor, spiking away (due to energy problems + aiming while flying) and it isn't very... well... Lerk like, I guess.

    No i can do either fly or sit my spikes are roughly 75% acurate, but for the bites who like to kill in 2 hits i mean, to appease these people the spikes will need to do more damage than they do now. oh and the idea is u dont fly but glide and fire <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> easy

    the bite is a sad loss, ive seen sone amazing biters and its entertaining to watch, but you need to accept that the dev's want to push the lerk into a supportive role...

    and why not thats what it was intended for, go skulk if you want to bite (imo they are the best alien form in the game anyway (1.04 wise))

    and i doubt any amount of complaining will change it in 1.1 anyway.

    Spikes were so useless. Even biting jps was ten times faster. I'm so sad.
    Only time i ever used spikes was to harass marines and break up em so i could procede to tear them apart in smaller groups with bite. Or when i ran out of energy and that marine is at low health and chasing me still cause im half dead too.

    I actually loved spiking, the only time I've ever used bite is when stupid marines think they can run into my umbra weilding their knife.

    The damage reduction that spikes are getting is a big loss... but if the RoF increase is true then it'll be all gravy, and we all know how good gravy is <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Well.. I was going to reply this and then I just realised.. I can't even count how many times I've flown into a bunch of turrets used umbra and bit away two turrets while strafing and flying out to repair that 20 HP I lost.. that's a huge loss =/, I can't really see lerks without bite spike and umbra.. yet I don't want them to lose spores or primal scream either.

    Oh well, change is good.. using a lerk will mean a whole new playing style, sending in a skulk or two as you shot a cloud of umbra from a safe distance.
