a quick conversion
I've been playing Deus Ex again recently, and when I saw these chaps running around I just had to try them in NS. I suppose this might be a beta release, since I think the legs look a little on the skinny side and could use some work. 736 polys. I didn't mention it in the readme, but you'll be wanting to rename the model to "heavy" of course.

(edited because it's 736 polys, not 36 ;) )

Rename it to soldier.mdl?

Patience, young padawan. I'll probably do that in a while. Just have to make sure the shield on the arm doesn't clip things too badly.

(while renaming it to soldier.mdl will work, the HA anims don't include swimming anims, and te run may well play at a speed that doesn't look right. Best to pop it on the LA skeleton)

its pretty cool but the animes are good for a laff. They really need work. even the strange original ns ones are better. no offense to you is intended

!!!

They are the "strange original NS ones"

/e my bad its for heavy i thought it was light. Wow he doesn't suit those animes at all. They look better on chunky models when he does it it looks like he's got MAJOR gas problems.

with all due respect and no perverted-ness intended, make the breasts more manly. the angled view of the front, at first glance i thought it was girl, cuz they kinda stand out. make em somehow more flat. and that arm thing should be removed. irrelevant, and as they say in the cs community:
"OMG OMG OMG! USELESS ATTACHMENT! -5!!!" -CSNationalist @ csnation.net
but i have to say, i agree.
....
and make it for the light armor, it seems to be better for it from the looks of it.

Christ, people. You think you're doing something nice for the community and every fluffwit crawls out of the woodwork to complain.

Drake: It doesn't have those anims because the default doesn't have those anims.

Terran chappy: Christ. For one thing, the arm attachments (there used to be one on each arm, but I dropped one to avoid clipping issues) are what made me think the model would look good in NS to begin with. Second, I may be suitably far out the other side of puberty to not see breasts on everything I look at.

I actually thought they were breasts.

Then again, I was also listening to a shoutcast at the very moment that just so happened to make fun of some guy who had a huge rack 'o manboobies at the last big LAN they casted, so

I hacked it up to make it a bit bulkier (no, I will not release it. Unless Souris would like me to), and it looks a lot better. Just goes to show you people, if you actually give a nice model like this a chance, then maybe, just maybe, you'll actually like it.

If you make them any flatter they'll be pointing inwards.

Now do a greasel replacement for the skulk! (or lerk even) Or how about those evil things in the lab just before you save your brother? Those could work for the gorge (or skulk)

I've yet to discover what is so damned amazing about the smartgun ...... It's just a black toothpick.
• JaegerJaeger Join Date: 2002-11-28 Member: 10202Members
Oh hohoh! But it's a smart toothpick!

Nice model Souris, so you finally got the conversation done? Because of that.... can we also expect some more conversations from UT-engine games? (some monsters from Wheel Of Time would be great for the Kharaa....)

Just this one from me, I'm afraid. The only other DEx model I'd be interested in playing with is ripping the legs off one of the security bots for some kind of exosuit for the HA. Only other UT-based game I have is UT itself, and I don't know if there's anything that would suit NS in there.

I like this idea of Deus Ex models for NS ones! And I think a karkian would look ace replacing a gorge. That MJ12 Commando looks top shag.

I don't like that "smartgun" either. "Wankgun" more like.

Humm, i love it! Thanks Souris, perfect release.

Looks Very nice.
I might give it a quick recolour befor I use it though, just so it looks TSA green.
Any chance we could get a UNATCO trooper for the light marine? I'd try it myself but I r teh SuX0rz at any kind of modeling or converting.

.....I was making one of those myself, LOL!
I was about 50% finished and forgot I had it, heh.

• Daza4Daza4 Kerc Kasha Join Date: 2003-04-06 Member: 15233Members
