<div class="IPBDescription">Big update :)</div>Well, its been long since i last showed some shots so ive worked lots on the map since then (yes!, for the deadline!! ) so here there are. Its just the basic structure and lights. I KNOW IT STILL NEEDS MORE WORK, but i want to first finish all the map with a basic structure.

here it is.( ive enlightened all the pics a bit, and some rooms (like the 2º hive) will be more dark)

    Since you are trying, right now, just to finish the basic structure I will not dewell on the fact that you need more lighitng contrast in some areas.  I think your textures look really great, ie - the floor in pic 4 - I just love how that looks when scaled up.  The only texture that caught me as odd is in Pic 18 from the bottom, or right <a href="http://www.planethalflife.com/roleplayhl/team/blueman/ns_ttro_v2_14.jpg" target="_blank">here</a> the pipes end at an odd texture.  (make any sense?)

    looks nice but it screams for detail in some places and lightning is somewhat repitive.

    btw, do u play in that resolution ?

    i did the pics smaller and lightened up a bit the screenshots. Yes i know map needs a lot more details, sounds, particle effects, etc.... im just trying to reach the deadline in time :|

    The desing of your map looks good,but as steve said you need some lighting contrast in some areas.

    Idea: In the room with the catwalk (second shot) put some Pipes up high. Some sort of platform marines cant get to. In shots 2, 3, and 8, put in some pipes running paralell to the path. These should have enough space to the ceiling to allow a bob to crawl. Shot 12 needs somthing too. Maybe a vent running across the ceiling. With <i>Prodigyesque</i> exits. GAH! another CS reference!

    All in all, very nice work, I like your concept/theme.

    Heres my bit of advice.  Try to make more vertical space.  Many of the shots seem to be kinda flat when it comes to ups and downs...and don't just make the vertical space there for looks, make it accesible to the player.

    Most of your hallways or rooms seem too big, and there is a lot of wasted space.  I dont know if its too late now, but make them a lot smaller, and put more pillars along the walls for realism and cover.
    Maybe have a section of normal wall or ceiling where the pillars broke off and you can see the alien infestation coming through the wall

    I think it is  really open, the feeling of small spaces adds a lot of the panic factor to NS mapping, large areas are good but don't have too many of them

    thid is what i suggest, replace the current water texture (halflife texture <!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo--> and put the proper alien water texture in form ns but besides that good stuff <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->

    ok, yes ive been wondering around the map a bit and its all to squarish, im adding columns and other things for cover. About the lighting. well, i dont think that in a pic you can really "feel" the lighting of the room. im very proud of my lighting mixture, speacially with the red-orange and red-white, and although it is a bit repeatedly all aruond the map, it looks scary and bright at the same time <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> .

    The map is very small for wut a normal NS map should be, its just a bit more than a quarter of the WC grid, cause i wanted to be of the first of trying a small NS map. it should be a quick and intense battle (for wut a NS round should last) and having big open spaces, i think, gives the map a more scary sorround, cause being so intense and having big open spaces will make players look in every direction to control the room, scarying them. The map has some little corridors aswell and i still gotta do the alien passages (i will do plenty). im using lots of sound to make it more realistic, but havent got any experience with the particle system yet <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> i believe ill send the map with the HL effects and when i got time, change and improve them.
