#1.Gorges no longer get more res than other lifeforms WTH?
#2.removed 33/66/100? WTH?
#3.removed alien frags in scoreboard? WTH?
and some other things how in the holy heck are aliens supposed to know if they have enough resources to go a certain alien class like lerk,fade,onos if the 33/66/100 is takenout??? bah
my other personal opinion is I think it is going to suck royally for the alien team.Although I never played it yet but my feelings tell me that it is going to fizzleout quick.

#1 Things are cheaper to build, in some instances.
#2 There was little need for the 33/66/100 caps, given that it appears all the species may be available at one-Hive. It does slightly muck over the Gorges, but with some of the other balancing that has been done, it's less a problem than one might think.
#3 Have to agree on this one. Tests were run even under 1.0x that showed pretty conclusively that recognizing Alien ability (who have to get into Melee range as opposed to Marines who can fire at you from across the room) was a big motivator for the Kharaa players. With scores removed, people were much more likely to be lackadaisical in their attacking. Hopefully it will only remove the DEATH counter, and not the kills. This would lead to much more intense, kamikaze alien-like behaviour in games.
The RP counter is still there. The limit is just at 100, regardless of number of Hives. So you'll know when you can switch classes.
And sadly, I must agree at least slightly... with the un-counterable buffs that have been given the Marines (or are holdovers from v1.0x, such as MT) I get the feeling that without a particularly skilled Alien team, v1.1 will be a v1.0 revisit, with Marines winning nine out of ten games. As opposed to now, where it's reasonably balanced... barring the JP/HMG rush.
Regardless.. please wait to play it before complaining about a system you've not even had a taste of yet. You might actually like it, when it's not just on-paper.
2. You can still see how much res you have, but the maximum dosent change when you get another hive (the max is always 100, and you can morph into any alien you have enough res for at any time)
3. That has nothing to do with gameplay.
The whole point of 1.1 is to stray away from the one dimensional "hive race" tactics, its suposed to be more about resources then anything.

unless your playing incompotent marines in 1.04 aliens will always loose.
1.: Yes, Gorges don't get additional resources. Hence, multiple Gorges (which have been updated to a quite good artillery unit against buildings and thus can support much better) are viable. Consider also the benefical use of res sucking.
2.: The res caps are a relic of the hive-dependant evolution system. As that's removed, they're just not necessary anymore, either.
3.: Alien scores are a long lasting debate - Flayra decided for one option. Get over it.

I too am alarmed by the uncounterables the marines still have which give huge advantages to the marines:
- MT
- Mines
These things don't have to have a counter per se, but if they are uncounterable they shouldn't be so damn effective.
In other words, nerf!
Nerfing MT:
Make it only show red dots up on the marine mini map whenever aliens move. This makes MT perfect in my oppinion and adds a lot of use to the minimap. Also, show team mates as blue dots, and structures as white dots.
Nerfing Mines:
1. Make it so you can't place mines directly on the nodes, so it will take around 4-5 mines to cover a node completely, thus making it extreamlly expensive to mine spam the res nozzles.
2. Bile Bomb should dissolve mines. They won't blow up, but they will just die like any other structure. The ability for bile bomb to kill mines is to keep marines from turtling at their base.
Personally i would hate to see the deathcounter go away.. actually i would like to have scores for marines as well, not so i can tell who is the most experienced, but so it will be more easy to tell the cheaters..
You know the story:
some Kharaa with 24 frags and 1 death.. playing a fade that never goes home to heal, and can charge 3 lmg-marines and still survive.. claims its his leet-skillz, yet you had time to empty 3 full clips into him at PB-range while he was fooling around like he never played the game before... His guts are all over the walls, there is no DCs even near the base and the gorge hasnt healed him in the last 15 mins or so...but hes still doing fine...
Same as the marine that consistently kills 4 skulks with lvl 3 carapace on a single lmg clip, surviving 10 *chomps* in the proces without getting even 1 medpack...
I say keep the scores, if for nothing else, just so we can spot the cheaters and tell them to get lost.
Minor note, i do realise these examples may sound a bit extreme, but i have seen them happen. Both times on Non-CD servers...
MT spots only on the minimap and Kharaa seeing only kills, not deaths, seem very fine ideas to me. However, MT should probably get much cheaper (or require no upgrade at all) if this is implemented.

As you can evolve to any class at one hive (one hive Onos are scary!), you don't need the caps.
While kill counts are removed, players with higher kill counts are higher up on the scoreboard (you just don't how much more). I believe the system might be the same for marines.
As for mine spam, it hurt. You've got to watch were you're going. Though I've gotta try the node mining.

Ah yes, 1.02, aliens had super armor.
Fades took as much damage as an onos did in 1.04 for instance...

I don't know what you know about the skulk bite, but it has a huge range. It takes at least 2 packs of mine to cover a res node. The skulk bite can by pass at least one mine on the ground, and if u climb onto the walls or actually jump on the nozzle itself it's no problem. And if u have carpaace u can blow up at least one mine and open up an attacking spot.
I use to mine nozzles until I realized how easy they are too avoid.
Was that the bug where carapace still gave damage reduction even when all armour was depleted?

That's the one, and its effect was not very significant. The only aliens that it affected were the skulk and the onos, since for the other classes HP runs out at the same time or before armor does. All 1.04 changed was that skulks saw the biggest jump in benefit from level 2 to 3 cara instead of the smallest, and that wounded aliens being healed were 30% harder to kill. The carapace Onos's armor was increased, so he could actually take even more damage.

The forum mods should delete every imbalance post that has a coutner part,
i.e. if theirs only one of each, they both get axed, if there are 2 saying aliens are overpowered, and one saying marines are, then they delete one of each.....
it could save you some <u>significant</u> Db space....
but seriously....
you never know what its gonna be like till you play it...chilll peeps, and we'll find out whos imbalanced when we get ahold of it...
my verdict: the team with the most players will be the overpowered one *wink*
(cant wait for the rush of technical info on the res system and so on that <u>that</u> will trigger...)
