Pure speculation.
I was wondering what other than Barney and those two scientists will be carried over from HL1?
In Freeman's closet in Black Mesa there's a photo of a baby on the top shelf. Maybe s/he will play some part in HL2? I also wonder if the big yellow robo-loaders that you see walking around with crates will be pilotable in HL2. I should think not due to the fact that it's got nothing to do with Black Mesa.
If you look closely at the gun mounted on the buggy in the HL2 movie where Freeman's driving around being shot at by a hovercraft, you can see that it's actually a Gauss cannon. You can hear it's distinctive wum wum wum wumwumwumwumWUMWUMWUM FZAP sound when a combine soldier is shot.
Anyone else notice anything in the videos that could be tied to HL1? Other than the bloody obvious things like the laser-guided RPG and the crowbar.

the laser-guided rockets were fun too, when the tanks shot them at you, you could use your RPG's laser to guide them harmlessly into the ground.... muahahaha

haha its not the original one from HL though, its the modern AT4 rocket launcher (or watever the nickname is )
City 17, boy. City 17.
And I doubt that baby in the picture is going to have anything to do with anything. It's the sort of thing someone sticks in on a whim and forgets about.
As cool as it would be to see Adrian in HL2, we'll just have to wait till OPFor2 sneaks up on us.
I hope he breaks out of jail and comes back to kick the g-man's arse! Come on Shep we miss you!
And I don't think Shepherd can just "break out". We se him get teleported to Xen in the end so I'd be surprised if it was just a simple jail they were going to put him.
Of course there is a possibility that the jail we've seen in the screens and movies of HL2 is actually where Shepherd is sitting.
GearBox - Adrian Shepard, Dr. Rosenberg and various weapons is all GearBox really created.
So, Shepard's probably not getting out of his "Prison" until GearBox comes into play.
and they'll probably include a Tau Cannon - it was just so good.
