Feed up right now!
I got the low down a few days ago that badmofo probably will not continou on ns sync as he is still sad over the hd crash that trashed almost all his latest progress on the map.
So this means that this is probably the third in an row half life modification work that goes out the window for me at least it feels like it for me as i have bin doing stuff in the comunity for about 1 and a half year now and not seing anything going in to final state exept for some really nice maps badmofo made for counter strike with my textures.
So iam leaving the hl comunity now for an final state it feels like it now at least.
but if badmofo lets me know that he will start yet again so will i join in again but right now does it feel like i nead to leave the comunity so goodbye.

I'd hate to see you go, you're an artist you know? Can't you do some solo work (just making soem textures and releasing them in a wad) or don't you know any other mappers you like and who could need your help?

This is why you don't do all your work for just one person. Nothing against badmofo, but if anything falls through with no one else to use it, your work is for naught.

Seriously, you've done some damn great texture work, and a couple that have fallen through is no reason to abandon everyone in general. I'm sure plenty of teams out there would love to have your work -- hell, NightWatch (SP episode under my lead, mapping team of me, ken banks, ekaj, adam foster, and gonnas) may even have use for some additional texture work if you'd be willing to contribute. We definitely need another man.

There's plenty of opportunities out there, just look around; broaden your horizons. It'd be a real shame for you to stop now.

And NS sure wouldn't be hurt to see some of your textures added to the pile! I know I'd love to see them!

Not to mention that cargo ship. You could always just allocate those textures and whatnot to the NS mapping community as a whole.

Its very sad to see you go, you have done some very impressive textures and I hope you change your mind and decide to come back.

All I can do is agree with what was said by the others.

Cliff, you've shown us all that you're capable of amazing things.
Should your decision be final, I sincerely hope to be able to welcome you back sometime soon.

    Don't go Cliff!
There are very skilled guys just right here,KFS offered a job and your tex fits very well with the NS world so,give 'em to the team

i also think u can ask to badmofo to release to someone Sync like KFS was near to do with Eclipse, there are some very good NS mapper that could finish it,it won't be an original(i mean made by one person) work but everyone's want to play around the marvellous processor, walk near the rails and see the holograms in action

Cliff, a year and a half is nothing! I know plenty of people that have worked on games for multiple years, and then they were cancelled before they were finished. Did they just give up? Nope.

I know it's hard to keep going, but you can't just give up like that.

I bet you had fun working on those projects. Think about what you learned in that time, think how much better you got. Just because they weren't released doesn't mean that effort was wasted.

Indeed. The experience you've gained -alone- should have made it all well worth it. I know what it's like personally as well. I've been creating levels for 4 years now, and have only one measly HLDM level under my belt to show for it. And that was over 2 years ago. But with all my failed attempts, I've learned so much. I actually hold some of my unreleased and unfinished work higher than what I have finished in my mind... considering what some of it has taught me.
I say hang in there. You have no reason to give up.

I must agree with all the others:

I've been mapping since 2 and a half year, and I've released NOTHING exspect a very very early beta of a crappy cs-map.
All work that I've seen from you so far is incredible, don't give up, I'm sure you have some nice treasures on your harddisk that only wait to be released.

And even if , and are hunting you, the ns-forum-people will cover your ### while your made nice work for us!
