I suck at Textures and Triggers. Help ME
I've just begun to make Natural Selection maps, but I have encountered a Problem. I SUCK AT MAKING TEXTURES! Does anyone have any pointers on how to make my maps look good? Mine look like SH T! Also, I'd like it if anyone could help me with Triggers (Like elevators, Rotating Doors, Fans that move and push people up, and weldable items). Thanks to anyone who helps... textures is not the only thing that makes a map good. In my opinion this is what you should learn:

- Architecture
- Creating a Good Strategic Layout
- Lighting
- Placing Monsters (in SP) and hotspots (MP) in the right way (also see: Creating a Good Strategic Layout and Architecture)

textures can make a map look a whole lot nicer, but only if the other things are also ok...

Generally I would say, people who suck textures should seek medical attention.

!ndigo, I understand what you mean. I already have Architechture and a Good Layout, I just want to make my maps pretty.

Nerd III : If people who "suck" textures should seek medical attention, then you obviously "suck" textures

Well, surely the NS texture set is good enough, unless you're looking for a specific texture, like computer screen with something on it.

It's said to be the mark of a good mapper if they can use the textures they have.

A little story: Apparently Legend hired one of the best Texture Artists in the world. They then fired the mappers that asked him for lots of extra textures, thus leaving all the top-class mappers.

And don't use all textures. Only one theme in one map.
What I'm trying to say: don't use half-life.wad, cstrike.wad and ns.wad together!
half-life.wad is total unrealistic
cstrike.wad is realistic
ns.wad is technic-realistic.

be careful on how to combine the different texture types...

Thanx, I appreciate your help. I have always been mixing HL wad with NS wad
