And the next one. Notice that I'm ducking under the side thingy. It's a little dark under there, should I move the side thingy down lower so people can't hide/camp there?

That ray thing is normally the NS logo, in gfx-accel mode. In software mode, it's that smear.

Nice hallway... I like the columns alot. The lightitng seems okay aswell, maybe a little bit to bright.
I would definetly leave the side apnels as they are, they seem to prive good cover.
Only thing I would change is the ceiling. It seems a bit plain... try rounding of the corners or putting some pipes up there.

Very blue. Get some different colored textures and lights in there.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it being blue.

Agreed, Plague. What it does need though is something to break up the seemingly constant blue. Spot lights or light_spot's do wonders for adding final touches, and help to add variation in the lighting. That's all it needs is more variation, not a different color. White would probably end up working best for the spot lights, but experiment with it a bit. Also, have you used the env_gamma? It really makes the levels look more vibrant/bold/contrasting when set to around 1.7 to 1.8.

Also, concerning the little place to hide in... nah, that's good. Aliens needs places like that every now and then...

Oh, and one final note... definitely don't make it darker, no... heh. NS is about contrast in lighting, not overly dark lighting. I think the brightness you've got here would be good, but I'd still like to see some more contrast in there. As in some pretty bright spot lights at odd angles. Don't worry, it won't brighten up the rest of the room too much.

Btw, software mode isn't supported yet in NS. That's why you see that weird triangle. It will probably crash in commander mode when you try it. I'm hoping to have this fixed for the first release.
