<div class="IPBDescription">This could really clear up some problems</div> I noticed a lot of new players still trying to go gorge and maybe its about time we had a guide in an easily accessible location on the website where new players can learn to use the gorge the right way without having to ask another new player how to do it.
I came up with something basic to give you an idea.
Before you even go gorge make sure no one else is gorge, or ask the rest of your team if its ok if you gorge. This clears up teh problem of resources being distributed unevenly and haveing as many aliens as posible to fight off marines.
As soon as you gorge you committed yourself to a race for resources which in turn is a race for upgrades for your team. The idea is to get resources and upgrades as rapidly as possible. To start out with get as many nodes as possible, 1 or 2 before you get Defense chambers. Getting offense chambers only slows this process down, especially early on, chances are after you put down that Offense chamber you just let the marines have a free upgrade.
If you are under very little pressure by the marines try to go for 3 resource towers before you put up defence chambers, but if the pressure is on try to get those defence chambers out early so your skulks have a fighting chance.
Once you have secured at 4 or 5 resource nozzles(you can do it with fewer but your team wont have the resources to evolve to higher forms) save for the second hive.
After you get the second hive up get movement chambers as soon as possible between your 2 hives, with at least one at each hive, then put webs up around the hives with your new level 3 ability and you can put a few offense chambers around the hive for added protection.
At this point your team should be in a very good position, you can either work towards the third hive or support your team by duilding offensive and defensive chambers close to enemy structures.
Remember the gorge is a team player more so than the rest of the alien team. So the object isnt to get kills with offensive chambers but to give your team the advantages it needs to win. Their kills are your kills and their victory is your victory.

p.s. dont rely on it cos i am part n00b
You could basically add a counter which counted how many games you'd played that lasted for at least... say.... 15-20 minutes. A few weeks later you release another server patch which now requires you to have played at least 50-100 such games before you can gorge.
killer_olie: It doesnt help much if the gorge you learned it from was a newb too. All it takes is one newb gorge to show off and they all get it wrong. Example a lot of gorges throw offensive chambers all around a res nozzle even early on.
K'ragg that sounds like a good idea but it would have to be implemented across all NS servers, though it would be nice to be able to pull up a listing of how much playtime a person has so you know they aren't newb. Or if they have too much free time on their hands like me.

What happens when everyone that joins the alien team hasn't played that many games? No gorge?
We don't need no stinkin' gorge!

Hrrrm, good point. If less than a quarter of the team has the requirements, let the half of the team that has played the most be able to be gorge. In any event, this is a moot point since multiple gorges won't detract from each other in 1.1. *grin*
