Lighting issue
Please ensure buttons to activate doors etc are clearly lit.

No one wants to be hunting for a swicth when is bearing down on them.

Good point. It can be as simple as adding your switch textures to the lights.rad list.

I put a small point light in front of each of my buttons after I got complaints about hard to find buttons in some of the earlier versions of my map. I haven't heard any complaints since.

Most of my switches exist within the cone of light coming from the doorframe, or are embedded in an alcove with it's own light source. It's just the way I map

You could just add an env_glow entity in front of the switches, like in some games that have your objective lit up by a glowing ball.

Aren't buttons like that marked by one of those gold 'Use' icons by the HUD anyway?

They are if the help is turned on (it has been throughout the playtests).

A user can (and likely will, after some time) turn those helper icons off in their MP menu, though. Assume nothing, when it comes to the wily and elusive Player...
