New map in construction.

<div class="IPBDescription">Ns_notnamedyet layout</div>Basically, this map happens on a space stations. If you look closely, you can see that the corridors form squares where the station facilities are located. To ensure correct gameflow, the corridores have been blocked in many places for some reason.

Ventilation shafts have not been marked on the map yet, but they'll probably litter the entire place.

Key:

Violet - Marine Start / Command Center
Green - Corridors
Purple - Residential Areas
Cyan - Offices
Yellow - Storages / Ware"houses"
Blue - Labs
Red - Maintenance
Orange - Hive

Light Areas - Main Paths
Dark Areas - Side Paths / Misc.

    Too complex...and at the hives, although i see that you've put 3 entrances into the actual hive, there is a bottleneck right in front of the 3-way split.

    That one was KFU's. I know not all maps are that large but thet're are not far off. Also, what do you mean by <i>actual</i> hive. There are always three actual hives.

    That's not even the full layout I completed -- and the final version didn't even adhere to that. But if you notice, despite the size, there's really very little going on in the Eclipse layout I drew. Same in the final map -- areas are large and fairly spaced apart, so it still is fairly easy to learn.

    about the top layout on first post - my usual comment - long corridors with lots of passages leading off = big r_speeds...you've got some there with 10 passages off one corridor... unless you've discovered a way to map that I am missing - it's going to be quite hard to keep it under 700 without resorting to a single hollow box...

    I agree with what the others have said.  You also seem to have lots of dead-end rooms.  

    Large, themed rooms, connected by the shortest pieces of hallway you can get away with is my current advice for layouts.  Having the entraces to hive rooms at different hieghts makes them much more fun to play too.

    Indeed, no offense, but that looks more like the maze from hell than a map. I'd be worried about anyone trying to navigate their way in this map. <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo--> Hell, I still get lost in Hera, and it's relatively simple compared to some of the maps I've seen... *cough* Penumbra *cough*

    not to mension the size will probably cause compile errors like max patchs " i hate that one " i like some of it, but i think the hives are best in the corners of the maps! instead of a line,

    try cutting up lots of corridors at the superior part of the drawing. do 5 or 6 rooms where the fight will take place and some corridors joining them.... it maybe work <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
