<div class="IPBDescription">Democratic bugs???</div> I just had a idea, and wanted to see what u all think.

Since the aliens are connected through the "hive mind", how bout "voteing" for your chamber at each hive stage.

I wonder if it could work... and how it would work in the storyline... if at all. just a thought.

Well.. sure, you can vote for upgrade chamber..... as of.... like.. 1.00.. or earlier? I don't think u should HAVE to vote to place one.. but you have the option should u want it... And it requires no changes to the game! Yaaay!

Well, it kinda fits into the storyline, but not really. Technically when you're an alien you're just an extension of the hive, with no real free will, so "voting" per se wouldn't really work. You could just say that it's the hive deciding which chamber to put down next, and make it voting behind the scenes, but whatever. Gameplay > realism.

I don't really see a need for this, though; it would just complicate matters. A good gorge will ask, and a bad one... would just be bad anyway. *shrug* Could work, though.

yea i agree, it doesnt realy need to be there and would complicate things... but would be intresting none the less. I totaly agree, a good gorge asks first, so there realy is no need for it.

Hopefully the chamber balancing will be worked out and it wont matter wat is chosen other than, im sick of that chamber how's about another. Or maybe a gorge has a choice, or even good ol roll the dice. Who cares i just want 1.1 gorge has choice!! POWER TO THE FATTY!!! <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo-->

um, yeah. Democratic voting. **Problem** You ready? This problem is so simple it's painful. Kept you interested? I doubt I did..
Yeah, Democratic voting would require a time-limit or else it would fail. If you need 66% of the people to vote, what happens if 50% of the people don't vote? Or how about making it one of those "Choose which map to change to" type plug-ins? You know, those annoying things that only pop up when you're trying to switch from leap to bite and cost you your life. Yeah that wouldn't work, either. You could decide at the very beginning of the round, but that costs precious pre-attack time for the aliens and gives the marines a fraction of a second lead (bad). Yeah, um, were those enough, or should I add a few more?

    ^^^^^^^^^^ what speed said

there is no nead, it is extra time wasted (howmany times hase the gorge been sitting there with his mouse over the MC just waiting for that last sec of build time so that yall cen get to said place fast or what ever.

Hmm, if necessary, implement it via the pop-up menu. When a hive starts building, an audio message is played to all aliens that it's time to vote, and they can do that via the pop-up menu. Voting ends when the hive is finished, and whatever chamber has got most votes wins. In case of a tie, the gorge(s) decide by simply building one of the chambers.
But what do you do with the first hive? How long time to vote? People are busy at that time, shouldn't they put pressure on the marines instead of voting? And until the votes are cast, the gorge wouldn't be able to build any chambers. Thoughts?

But of course, a gorge could just ask the team.

I guess it would require waiting to build it, but it could be attached to numbers 6, 7, and 8 so that it doesn't happen on accident. I think it would have to be about 10 or 15 seconds for the vote at the most to be possible.
