1.1 Trailer?

I think it would be kind of nice to see a little trailer with a few clips from the new version, to get people excited about the extensive changes due. Maybe it could be released a few days ahead of the patch release. Science and Industry did the same thing before the big .97 release, I think successfully. It might even be able to scoop back up some players that got bored with 1.04 and stopped playing. I would make one but for two reasons:

1) I don't have 1.1
2) Even if I did, I might not have permission to release information about it

Anyone else think this would be a good idea?

Good idea. Just don't make it too big. We 56ks have trouble with the big files.

I agree.... people have become VERY impatient because they havent seen or viewed anything of NS 1.1 since April 29th it will grab the attention of the 1.0 people who are still in "hibernation" while being abstinense of NS but waitng for 1.1 to come out.. itll get them to come out of hibernation and become exicited... NS surwe could use about 30% of the ns population who stopped playing for now.. such as me <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>

I read the ppl who beta test 1.1 arnt allowed to post any pics or alot of other things for fear of death (more or less) lol

I am quite sure there is a trailer being made but it will be released at the same time as 1.1.

But there is that 20s clip of the skulk rotateing on the walls, but i'm too lazy to dig it up now.

(1) A 200Mb trailer would be bad, m'kay. I'd say something around 50Mb would be better.

(2) The only skulk wall-running movie I've seen was more like 2s than 20. Has there been another released?

a trailer before the release of the game is a pretty good idea. That will get the active members of the community more anxious for the patch, and they will also know that its going to be released soon. Also something like that might help promote new players, and like you guys said... bring back some of the other folk that have gotten bored with 1.04

Natural-Selection V1.1 trailer on fileplanet.com is sure to get some major downloads =)

Everyone seems to be chronically unable to read what I already have said many times:

OF COURSE WE HAVE THOUGHT OF DOING A 1.1 TRAILER. THAT GOES ALONG WITH THE FACT THAT WE WERE SMART ENOUGH TO TO A 1.0 TRAILER. STOP ASKING US ABOUT A TRAILER OR I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND BEAT YOU TO DEATH WITH YOUR OWN MOUSEPAD.

/rant over. Just kidding about the mousepad thing. Sort of.

PR != Promotional, PR stands for Public Relations and is the industry buzzword for advertisement and generally telling people about your product. I'm not even sure if I should respond to this. You have been promised a PR blitz. It has not yet happened. Be patient. Just... be patient. We are not ready to begin yet (rather obviously, I thought).

If you want to see how we do PR around here, go back to rr.org archives for September and October 2002. Then PHL. Then about 100 other sites.

/me goes off muttering about people that don't do their homework and are tiresome...

well of course they have them... its just not ready yet... but you guys should start handin out those screenies cause the last 2 builds have been balance changes only and wouldn't affect major gameplay elements unless you decided to take them out....
