<div class="IPBDescription">a maze map?</div> I started a maze map.
Its Aim is not killing each other.
Its to find the way trough a huge maze without getting insane.
- It will be pitch black.
- all paths look the same.
- It has multiple levels and level intersections.
- It will have multiple ways and make you running in circles.
- It will change its shape during time (rotating walls)
- Some rare deadly traps on the top for too fast jpers and lerks.
- Some rare special effects (rotating bottoms, illusionary walls, buttons, glass walls)
I would really like to allow teams. this causes some problems and some nice "features" too:
- only one hive in the map (no fade, no onos)
- you have to decide if you want a flashlight or hivesight+speed. (knowing one hive position wont help you much)
- resources must be really rare.
- the comm can just build near the entrance. The comm cant see the maze.
- the minimap will show nothing interestring.
- you have to decide to kill each other or to act as team (flashlight + hivesight). killing will never be a good idea (but a nice psychic factor).
- gorges placing structures to help finding your way. (only D chambers - one hive and no fighting) -> the maze must be compact to hit the alien structure limit quickly.
- parasiting and bullet holes help orientating.
Jetpackers/lerks are too fast. need jetpack killing traps.

I tried that and its no problem but a nice atmosphere.
Thats no big deal when you act as team.

And it increases compile time.
This is the first and last pic of the maze in early stage.
is shows one level that can be 4 times as big.
and it would be no problem adding 10 or more levels.
But it will surely look much better when done by hand. Good luck.

Lets see how big the maze can get till i hit the max map leafes.
When its big enough lights will be the last thing I add.
Use your flashlight or hivesight.
I mean how stupid it it to find yout way trough a maze when you have hivesight and you are faster.
There must be a disadvantage.
after all it sounds a lot like ns_pitchblack.
Also, don't forget to add some k3wl secret areas and stuff.
it's a bit boring just to run around :/
No action no strategy <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> ? If you find a good goal for your map except finding the exit ,because what happens if someone finds the exit?
I wont add dead traps for now.
When you think you can pass my labyrinth without any strategy you are damn wrong!
