A Quick Question On 1.1q

<div class="IPBDescription">for the devs</div> Why have you moved acid rocket down to hive two? when now you need hive two to evolve to fade, surely that defeats the purpose of it being at hive three before, so people dont sit back and spam acid rockets and yet again fade becomes artillary and not the close combat monster it should be.

Just a thought, sounds contradicting to me :S

    It's very common for hive two to go down and people still stay fade if they're smart enough.

    I'm not saying I disagree with you, but please tell me where this is uncatergorically stated ?

    It also maybe because metabolise is more powerful then AR and it's been swapped for that reason.

    i dont know how good the fade is at close combat in 1.1, but in 1.04 its not THAT good. 2-3 LMG marines can easy take down a fade if it doesnt use acid rockets, imo making fade close combat only would just be making it like a expencive lerk

    You obviously haven't practiced as a melee fade (which I am now almost exclusively) and let mr tell you...carapace+celerity rocks!

    Oh and can someone tell me exactly what metabolize does?

    It actually works... cause you want to keep that second hive to have all the advantages. One of them being the acid rockets. Metobolize is up with the 3rd hive cause.. its one of those extra special abilities. Things are still being tweaked so don't keep all these lovely mentionables close to heart <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    btw.. Fade is still a close quarters fighter..at this stage. You depend on those fades(when you have them around), because they are more rugged than the simple skulks running around. You can be upfront and agressive with a fade unlike the skulk where it.. skulks around <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    So wait, does metabolize still absorb bullets or is it now just an uber healing ability? The quote seemed to imply the latter.

    I think it's only to get health and adrenaline, there is no 'no-damage' thing.

    I think the new metabolize is silly... the team doesn't want marine weapons that overlap existing ones, how come an alien weapon overlaps an existing ability (regen)?

    originaly metabolize wasnt super regen with a stand still penalty. it made u invincible for a short time with the damage u take adding to your adren and health, not sure casue it never worked right <!--emo&::fade::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/fade.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='fade.gif'><!--endemo--> the old metabolize made u invincible haha.

    theres 2 ways to use or not use regen on top of metabolize

    1. regen on top of metabolize would be to play it safe since to use metabolize u have to be standin still and u cant move while your usin it.

    2 not usin regen and usin carapace to do more damage, then blink out to safety so u can "metabolize" to regen all your health and adren then go into battle again.

    Do you think it is possible for aliens to end the game without Onos and acid rocket when marines relocate to a Hive?

    How do they end the game?

    In general marines relocation to a Hive causes never ending game.

    I dont know how metabolize works. All I know is 1.04.

    well for example, if the marines reloc to a bad hive, such as Noname hive, the fades can acid rocket all of the buildings to death faster than the mariens can repair. It'll take a while, but eventually the marines will be worn down.

    yes, they use lerks to shoot stuff, gorges to heal stuff, and fades/skulks to kill stuff in close combat.
