Cs Maps In Ns

<div class="IPBDescription">like or dislike?</div> There are a few CS maps ported over to NS. (<a href='http://www.thehivemind.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=UpDownload&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=5&ttitle=de_dust' target='_blank'>de_dust</a>, <a href='http://www.thehivemind.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=UpDownload&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=71&ttitle=Mansion' target='_blank'>ns_mansion</a>, and <a href='http://www.thehivemind.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=UpDownload&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=88&ttitle=Rats' target='_blank'>ns_rats</a>)

Do people like these maps or hate these maps??

    CS maps tend to be rather small compared to the larger, more detailed NS maps. All those vents in all those maps took me a good month to remember them...

    Besides, The hive would be shot down in like 5 seconds because thats all it takes to move from marine (CT)start to aliens (T)start on ns_rats.

    Ugh, niether way would be cool...

    CS maps too small for NS... and, <i>the kicker</i>, NS maps too big for CS.

    Take nothing... and having a bomb spot in Power Silo and Cargo... that would be sweet... *ahem*. Running in either direction means commiting the whole round to that side of the map.

    Or solve that problem and put the bomb spots closer near the center, and you have tons of wasted map and n00bs camping in random secluded corners with big guns. It would be fun initially, but ultimately suck after 3 games when you realize you never find anyone and the timer keeps running out <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->.

    cs maps are supposed to be played in cs.
    ns maps are supposed to be played in ns.

    or am I wrong? why port the maps if it makes no sense because the games are too different?
    only to pull some cs-kids to ns? too lazy to map for a mod from the beginning and start a new project? not a clue of how ns is working? a missing ns.wad <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> its like port cs maps for dod only to place the tnt at the c4 spot... IT REALLY MAKES NO SENSE. ns mapping is much more of a challenge so take it or dont...

    When your eidting it for ns to run on cs you block off some areas to help flow the game play

    I played rats in NS and who ever converted it put 2 res nodes in the sink. When I turned on the garbage disposal in the sink it sucked both the nodes down the drain <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    only tried de_dust but its a change i guess :\ dont really liike it tho... way too bright

    Most of the CS maps brought over to NS just dont work. Res nodes not working, no teamone teamtwo entitys and hives protruding from buildings. They make them unplayable even as FUN maps. I havent found 1 single CS map thats remotely playable in NS.

    Rats was originally a plain jane halflife multiplayer map if I recall correctly. Heck, I'd be surprised if there wasn't a DoD version! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> Rat's NS version could use a bit (okay, alot) more work with the entities.

    What they do need to do though, is put in an env_gamma and knock it way down cuz yeah... too bright on ugly halflife textures = gross.

    Haven't tried the other "cs" maps though.
