to replace karraha
omg, i've just thought of sumthing gr8. how about machines instead of aliens, like AI droids designed to evolve, kinda like those spider things in stargate: sg1, that r made from tiny bits. egg could be a mass of wires, hive could be a bunch of complex machinery. fade could be terminator, onos could be a ramming tank gorge spit could be a little shard of steel, they could bleed oil.any takers

The organic wall texture (say, "organic1") would be replaced with a machine looking texture, and named "organic1".

Heck, I'd lend a hand, I have tons of mechnical "things" lying around! with some tweaking, the Bipedial Forklift would make a wicked Onos...
/me forrages through model archive
You could also make a robo-scorpian that hovars without flapping!
For a start, it would represent a huge amount of work to do it right, you'd really have to replace everything on the alien side, I mean, think about it..5 player models, the v models, all the buildings, projectiles, sprites even. You could probably still use the original animations just fine as long as the replacements were modelled to roughly the same shapes, but still, thats a helluva lot of modelling and skinning to do...
Secondly, the green organic infested textures wouldn't really fit.
Someone suggested making replacement wads ( yet more work ) but I don't think it would be as simple as that. Anyone remember ages ago, someone tried to make giger-esque wads to fit with the Aliens pack? I seem to remember that some of the textures are actually embedded in the maps themselves, so it worked fine in some areas , and not at all in others.
Still a good idea though, I reckon and done right, could be very cool indeed. I'd be tempted to avoid Terminators and the like and try and keep it somewhat original, but then I'm not making this so...
