Just curious, is VAC sandwiched inbetween the engine and the MOD? Or is it built directly into the engine? From what I understand, CD inserts itself between the engine and the MOD, and changes the information that the MOD receives so that the cheats don't work (like the wall-hack, where CD moves players that you can't see behind you). Why doesn't someone just write a program that listens to the traffic coming from the server, and send the valid auth code back to the server? Or what's to stop them from using a hacked version of CD? What did they do to prevent this?
I hate cheaters, so I'm glad somebody is writing this software. I just wish people would realize that being good at a game at the expense of others doesn't add to their prestige. Then we wouldn't need this software, we could just enjoy the game.

VAC has the potential to be great, however it's updated once every year making it obsolote. Also, new cheats have a very easy way to get past VAC while they must figure out a new hooking method to get past CD's blocks.
