<div class="IPBDescription">I cannot for the life of me join game...</div> Ok, so some of my friends were talking about NS. Being the avid FA and CS player that I am, I wanted in. First off, this game looks stunning, really really awesome gameplay <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> (or so I hear). But, of course, I can't connect to a game.
I've been raking my brain for the past 48 hours trying to figure out why <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> (in between studying for finals, that is). This is what happens: I start up NS through my windows button (start/programs/natural selection/luanch natural selection), it loads to the main screen, I then go to multiplayer, internet game, filter for not full games of NS with ppl in them, all this works fine. Here's when it gets screwy. I hit join game and it goes to console like always (with the little thing saying athentication WONiD, conection accepted, etc...) and i get the little count down til i'm supposed to conect. But the "inistalizing and downloading" thing never pops up! It just stays at the count down! (usually stops around 100 to 98 seconds left).
I really want to play this game! Please help me!
Stuff I've tried (if this helps):

Also, give your computer specs.
True, make sure you have all necessary updates (HL 1.1.1.0 and NS 1.0)
I don't have the countdown thing at all tbh
Well anyways, try using a server browsing program like ".hlla"
If this works, well then you can at least play, and you know your problem is Hl-software-ish
1) sys specs
2) does this hapen with outher mods?
3) you have tried to use ASE (good job, good choice <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->)
4) you are not running from the desktop icon (it is sorta borked)
so lets see, oh yah are you ussing hl/cs retail? (just throw that in with syspecs)

Thanks for the help guys, but I got it working. You see, my brother had been playin' around with some of my programs (Hammer Editor to be specific) and this caused all the map .wads to load thru the editor, not the game! All patched up now (with my guardien program, lets see him <b>try</b> to get through that!). Thanks again.
