the only way I could see over 3 hives being usefull, is if aliens can only use 3 of them. It would just make for more of a battle.
So far Ive heard of admins spamming hives all over the map, wich doesnt actually answer my question, also I hear of a map with 5 hives...but 2 are randomly locked at round start...neither really answers my question.

facts:
2 hives needed for fade.
3 hives needed for onos.
A build hive always activates the spawn points near it inside a "hive radius" you can set somewere.
The first hive places a RT on the nearest Resnode at game start if theres one.
On the smallest resolution only 4-5 hive pictures are visible. on the largest its ~10.
and games can end really quicly.

(im not saying in all maps just some that are unbalanced)
after "playtest" ns_layout it was obvious that you cant win the match when aliens have three hives on this map no matter what. the ha is too slow, webs and paralizes makes it impossible for packers to reach a hive. shure you can rush the starthive at the beginning... but...
how does this nuclear bomb works? is it a plugin? where can I get it from?

When i downloaded ns_layout from NSWorld it was in a .map format?! Why did he release it uncompiled?
The nuclear bomb was a part of NS but it got dumped, maybe overpowered or something. But the code for it's still in there. Turn sv_cheats on and enter "deathmessage nuke" <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

because aliens in the later game are too strong compared to the marines. it doesnt matter if there are more than 3 hives. I guess you havent seen ns_layout yet...

If the marines or aliens are prolonging the game when they could jut end it the admin can just say "You have 10 minutes then it is a draw" and set a nuke. Or for a clan match a 45 minute nuke.
