and Cereal, Hudson already has the animations figured out, so don't worry yourself over it.
The skinmesh is the 2D layout of the models surfaces that will be skinned. Get HLMV (Half-Life Model Viewer) and look at any model, go to the Texture tab and that flattened out .bmp you see is the skinmesh (along with the skin in most cases.)
i've decided that instead of repeting the skin for the bumps.... i'll mesh the whole thing... i've got a few plans for layout of the texture already...
my question now is... where should the most detail of the mesh be placed? wings, or spine/bumps?

the whole back is meshed... and i realized i was doing the bumps wrong... so a start over there...
unless ou guys don't want to detail, the SIDE of the bumps... (it's a top view of the bumps themselves the whole time...)
