<div class="IPBDescription">Making life easier</div> Just made this little thig today, its a GUI for NS, like the one in TFC. here the read me

I put this together to make life that little bit easier for most people, also gives new players a rough in-game referance that is shown in the console.

Bind any button to +commandmenu then when u load up NS pressing that button will bring the menu up. To go into different menus use the number keys.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Features:
Join Team - Saves you running to the portal,

Mute - When its activated, hold tab to bring up the score board, click on the names of the people you want to mute, deactivate it, right click once to get rid of the mouse.

Demos - Just makes it a little easier to record a demo and stop it (do NOT start/stop a demo while someone is useing voice comms)

Help - Once you have chosen what you want help on press ~ or ` key (the key above the tab button) to bring down console, the information will be in there, should work on all resolutions down to 640x480

    Hey rue,

I know some people won't like this since it takes away from the NS atmosphere but I think in the view of it all it's nice,

    good work,

If you could combine that with the sayings that someone put out (can't remeber who) and the ability to access the normal popup menu then it would be a great addition overall. Kind of like Mako scripts for DOD which totally change the way you interact with other players.

What's with the .exe? It seems like you could just have a zip with the instructions and the commandmenu.txt , or even just that file with instructions at the top of it.

Simple fix... instead of having the commands do "record demo1" have them do "stopsound;record demo1" also for ending demos... "stopsound;stop".

    Works every time.

I dont really midn, was just a basic one to test the water, use my source code if your little heart desires it <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->, i just looked at the TFC on to learn how to code it

as for the exe why not, saves you having to go to extract then choose your directory, if you want to open it up you can choose to open it in winzip or power archiver

    This is very nice!

Heh, well the reason I mention it is that some people don't feel comfortable downloading and running exes from strangers on the internet unless it's from a reputable site. I got burned once thinking an exe was a self-extracting executable when it really was a virus. Since then I've been more careful. It's nice of you to think of saving them work, though.

Here's my tweaked version. It has the same team selection, muting, and demo recording options that Rue's has, with the addition of a sensitivity changer (from 1 up to 9, mostly put in there becasue my sensitivity keeps resetting itself <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> ) and a "messages" section. The messages section assumes the server has %h, %a, %l, and %r supported in says.

Another wee tweak I did is that now you can navigate the menus using the mouse, instead of only being able to use keypresses.

edited to add that if I manage to find what determines the colour of the text, I'll change it to either TSA blue or a team-neutral colour, to improve the looks a little (and make it less Half-Lifey).

Although I would never use such GUIs myself, I can see many other people loving it!
    Good work!

It's part of HL. TFC uses it extensively. I've never liked it, personally, but you can do some very shiny things with it.
